I tried a subscription for this summer and it's been awful. The food is not fresh. It looks like it's the old stuff they can't sell. I've complained but have never received the courtesy of a reply. I would not recommend this place at all.

Update: By reaching out through Instagram, I was able to get ahold of customer service and resolve my issue quickly! I’ve been offered a credit/refund for the unapproved substitution I couldn’t eat, and am happy to report that the other items in my delivery have been great so far. All of my questions were answered thoroughly, and I learned how to customize my subscription box for future orders. Suzy was a personable, helpful respondent to my needs and I am grateful for the prompt reply to my message.I’ve sent a couple of emails to the customer service address in the last eight days about my first subscription box (it was delivered today with a pricey unapproved substitution that I can’t eat and will need a refund for), and while the rest of the produce looks mostly fine, I’m considering canceling my subscription due to lack of responsiveness.

I've subscribed to Hood River Organic CSA for many years now. They have become my "winter CSA", for the months when my usual summer CSA is not running. They always have amazing local produce, every single month of the year. The ability to customize is wonderful, though I always just focus on the produce from their local Hood River partners. Also, great non-raw-produce options too, from local vendors - tortillas, eggs, bread, granola, juice, coffee, kombucha, cheese, salsa, kimchi, etc. etc.! I love when my doorbell rings on Friday mornings - the friendly HRO delivery driver brings my box right to my front door! Overall, a fantastic organization that I feel great supporting.

I've been getting their CSA boxes since beginning of pandemic, and I LOVE their beautiful produce!! I love their beautiful eggs, and all the organic veggies. It's clear to see that the veggies are fresh from the farm, they are HUGE and comes in lots of crazy shapes. So it's worth every penny! It's also nice that a lot of the times there's surprise veggies thrown in the box. :) (great customer service always also, whenever I had any issue or request for content)

Fairly new to this service and love the idea of LOCAL and fresh veggies, eggs and fruits to our door. The first box was excellent. When I ordered the second box, I made some changes to the order in time but they weren't reflected and I received extra items and was billed for. However, I emailed and got a prompt response and a credit to the account. No option for a refund which I find not very customer friendly. Also find it hard to see in the system how the credit is actually reflected on the new order. I could not see how and where the credit was applied to so I just have to trust the process I guess. Was a bit disappointed with the last box that was received. The items (esp. chart and avocado) just did not seem as fresh as they could have been. Also not 100% convinced that most fresh greens are coming from local farms? Giving 3 stars because I feel the product and maybe service platform could use just a wee-bit more love. We'll give it some more time to decide if this feels right for us or not.

We've been buying from Hood River Organic since the first spring of Covid pandemic.Quality has generally been good but there were certainly some items delivered that I would NOT have purchased in the grocery store due to poor quality.I would have passed them over in the produce display rack.Our delivery this week (early January 2023) included a Red chard bunch that was very small for the price; it didn't make 2 good servings for adults. I don't have that problem when I choose my veggies from the produce section in New Seasons. Our delivery also included a Green kale bunch that had a lot of yellow leaves; approx. 1/3 of the bunch. Another example of low quality I wouldn't have bought in the storeThe convenience of having home delivery is good but the variable quality is disappointing.

Love getting produce boxes from Hood River Organic. I was unsure about if it would be worth it but after getting my first box I don’t think I could go without! It is such higher quality than anything I can find at the store. You also can customize the box and get exactly what you want. It’s super easy to set up and it’s getting me to try veggies I wouldn’t have typically bought at the store. It’s really rejuvenated my culinary inspiration!

I love that Hood River organic does deliveries for a small fee and also has places where you can go pick them up without paying the fee! Each week their system alerts you that it is now time to choose for the next week... You have between Thursday afternoon and Sunday evening to peruse what they are offering and decide what you want in your basket for that week... Or you can skip that week... And if you do nothing you will get whatever it was that The preset for your basket for that week!If you have food allergies like I do you can make a request a substitute other things if it's a week where their preset has something in it I can't have... They're usually pretty good about swapping it out but if they accidentally send you something you can't have they will refund you the money towards the next one!They seem like they must be a pretty small organization but they are very helpful if anything goes wrong.As someone who can only eat organic food, and that loves stuff that's farm fresh, this is so far the best way I have found to have that in my life

I'm on my 3rd or 4th CSA box and I'm loving everything I've received so far. The fruits and veggies are fresh, juicy and more robust than what a grocery store can provide. Their website/customization system is a little dated but I hope one day they're able to develop an app. I look forward to customizing my box each month and I like how delivery and putting orders on hold are options!

We are fairly new to the service from Hood River Organics and love the convenience of the home delivery. We also love the idea of local food from farm to table. There are some foods that cannot be local but are nice to receive as well, like bananas and "avos". The first order was amazing. So vibrant and fresh. The second order, we did receive items that we had previously cancelled. However, customer service responsive and helpful and we received a credit. The reason for my 4 start is the quality of the food that we received in the last box. We where so disappointed. We received the box on Tuesday and by Sat. the chard and kale was almost none salvageable. The avocados where also bad by sat. We understand that these are all vegetables that don't last forever but I'd hope they last longer than 4 days. Also, the credit given and used is not quite understandable in the system. Could use some work for clarity. We'll be giving it a bit more time to figure out if the bi-weekly service is enjoyable.

Hood River Organic offers great fruits, veggies, and all kinds of "add ons" that make shoping online fun. We've been trying healthy new recipes ever since we joined. Home delivery or store pickup at Whole Foods are convenient options, and if our frig is full or we are out of town, then putting our order on hold is quick and easy. We had one minor issue with over ripe fruit last year, and Hood River customer service was excellent --- quick and very helpful ! We were given a full refund. Our family loves suporting Hood River Organic, and we recommend them VERY HIGHLY !
