“Great selection, interesting alternative to "whitehouse shopping", enjoyed it and found some inspiration even though I was shopping only for 2, not a restaurant!”

“Very clean and neat little market! I had excellent service at the liquor section from a young man who recommended a good tequila to me. The cashier was also a very nice young lady who made my experience at this place awesome!”

“Locally owned with good selection of products. The deli has very good food. Although not huge, it has everything you need. Prices are a bit steep, on par with wholefoods.”

“This is just a great store with good food and good prices. We really like the broad selection. The marinated chicken thighs in the meat areas are so simple to cook and tasty. The customer service is great too, the employees always have a smile and are very helpful. Can't wait to go back!”

“The BEST fresh sandwiches in town... HANDS DOWN! The way they assemble... apply your chosen condiments and offer up a variety of veggies, cheeses, breads and proteins is like every other sandwich shop combined... ON STEROIDS!!! They layer each offering perfectly, so if you can't get to your sandwich for a few hours it is never soggy. How in the heck do they wrap them up so tight and perfect is beyond me. Oh... they have a choice of sprouts and I always get the pea sprouts for crunch. If you add avocado, you won't be lifting up your Dave's Killer bread to see if it's actually there! It's there and it's visible! The bread choices are almost ridiculous... is it silly to say there are too many? Yeah... it's silly..: they aim to please all diners with every intricate sensitivity! The downside? Lunch hour is a ZOO.:: it is always packed... the lines are long and that can be intimidating. I've discovered their online order app and it is pretty seamless and it is the only place I order my food online. Pro Tip: they also sell a myriad of bread makers in their store. Including Metropol, Bread Stop and my personal favorite addiction: MODO bakery--- they bake their own bread for Beppe and Giani (among others)... they are family owned (locally).. they owners are the SHIZZ! If you're lucky enough to get the the Kiva early enough to snag a loaf... their PANINO loaf is my all time favorite (it also comes in half loaves for under $3. How's that possible? I usually roll in late and much to my dismay and self-loathing (that I didn't get there earlier) they are completely wiped out of every loaf! They have a little bit of everything, mostly leaning in on organics and local produce and other unexpected sundries. Their deli and supplemental offerings are highly respectable for a small market. They even have a book section and bulk food. Can you imagine that? Kudos to the Kiva! Pro tip: they have a large (FREE) parking lot on the side of their building... which is GOLD in downtown Eugene!”

“Natural Grocers recently ended their over a week long grand opening and now are officially open. I have mixed feelings about yet another Natural Food Store in Eugene, but will try to do an objective review. Kudos for Natural Grocers in for not using plastic or paper bags in Eugene or any of their other branches in the US that has saved 100 million plastic bags from landfills since 2009 (enough to go from NY to Los Angeles a whopping 6 times.) I think other Natural Food Stores, Grocery Stores and all stores should do the same. It doesn't cost that much to buy a canvas bag and other stores charge money for plastic or paper a dime, but should be $1 or more. Natural Grocers does sell canvas bags for $1 which is great to turn on people! Great that they have 100 percent organic produce and the products that they do carry are conscious. I feel that they lose points for putting all their bulk from grains to nuts etc in plastic bags. This is a paradox. Bring back the bulk bins. Even more mainstream grocery chains such as Fred Meyer, Safe Way, or King Soopers have bulk bins or the mainstream meets natural food store meets Whole Foods aka Market of Choice. I also feel that Natural Grocers is super paleo. Having been an ethical vegan for 15 years I can't help, but to to look at Natural Grocers extensive books for sale seeing only one vegan title and a few raw foods titles among the 90 percent paleo books. I definitely feel that Natural Grocers is better than Trader Joe's and all other mentioned grocery stores above, but still feel that living in Eugene I still choose to support Sundance, Grower's and Kiva. Sundance is several notches above Natural Grocers for the following reasons: *Better, fresher, and more diverse range of all organic produce including wild crafted * the store is nearly all vegetarian except for for a few cans of wild tuna *Less corporate and friendly vibe *Better bulk selection with labeling the specific source of all bulk items (super rare to see) * Amazing hot bar/cold bar that is nearly all vegan/all vegetarian (one of the best on West Coast) *Open earlier and latter I believe in a green economy and voting with one's dollar. So, Sundance and Grower's will get the majority of my votes but still feel occasionally supporting Natural Grocer's is a good balance.”

“California confused...The liquor store was unique in that it had a segregated area for the liquor. Normally in California liquor and beer and wine are all in one general area in a store, not segregated by liquor and beer and wine. The had all liquor types and sizes which was great and was able to get what I needed although I had to drive half across town to find the location. But I guess that is Oregon.”

“Growers is an all volunteer food-buying club in Eugene, Oregon for buying natural and organic foods. I have volunteered with them since moving to Eugene. Some of the most kind, compassionate people I have met in Eugene. Only open 3 days a week and parking can be rough. Best to bike if possible. Make sure you go through orientation on your first day so you get the basics: No credit cards! Cash/check/EBT only; bring your own containers; etc. This place is saving tons of packaging from going into landfills and providing people with healthy organic food at really reasonable prices. They've been around a long time.”

“As pleasant as it is small. A lovely woman runs the place. Most kind and pleased to see you. Small store packed with a few choice choices. She knows her neighbors, she knows her clientele. If I need a quick drink or a quick snack I know where to go. Rock on and Keep on Rocking.”

“It’s a good thing that Lane County hosts a lot of red barns. But you and I know there’s really only one Red Barn. This one.Not just because of that phenomena of a local sandwich menu but because of the pepper jam that lives there. Or, is it the juices, incense and Home made, vegan, banana chocolate chip cookies? It’s that.Well, have this…Red Barn is mellow, warm and loving at all times. It’s slow in that way - the way we want and need it to be. Such a thing made of up to date offerings in small aisles of ice cream and chips, bulk oil and peanut butter, fantastic organic produce, root vegetables stored properly (Down With Solanine!) and lots of cold coconut water, kombucha, beers and milk. Friendly and good.A huge, active Community Board with the bike rack and spots for all of those cars.Disclaimer: the peanut butter, raw sweet potato, red chile, dandelion greens, mustard greens and Toby’s Original sandwich on wheat pictured here is of my own making - with Red Barn ingredients. FYI only.More of these people who are Us.Start here.”

“May be a bit on the pricey side (hence only 4 stars) but I'll tell you what... all of their goods are of superior quality and they definitely deserve a look-see. You be the judge.”

“They gave us a good deal at the time they were ending their lunch specials. Great place for a working guy/gal to stop in for a hot lunch or something to drink. They even still had hot coffee at 4 pm. Thank you. Helpful friendly staff, great prices”

“A wonderful store with a wonderful employee. We stopped here on our way through town for drinks and HASH BROWNS!!! Great choice on our part. The convenience of their hot foods is beyond compare. Boom boom boom, in and out. A very nice and helpful woman checked us out and happily sent us on our merry way. A great selection of items for a family out perusing the countryside. The store layout makes selections easy and consternation free. Good coffee, too. A world of plenty when it comes to choosing The Snack of the Day, especially with teenagers in tow. Again, thank you to the kind woman at the register. We hope to be back soon.”

“This Albertson’s always has a check stand open if you don’t want to do self checkout, and customer service is more pleasant than customer service at other Albertson’s locations. Always check for red tags, “manager’s specials,” and use the app to clip digital coupons to get the best prices. Check to see if items you want have any additional manufacturer’s coupons on the app before checking out to maximize your dollar.”

“Nice workers and I like the gas rewards since we shop at fred meyer. Please put up a sign on pump 5 that says self service. The sign at the front of the aisles makes it seem like it is full service and only some of the full service pumps have signs so it could be much more clear. Two other cars pulled up after I moved confused as well.”

“Great local Safeway close to home. Friendly employees and quick shopping trip. Self checkout available. Great deals especially if using the Safeway app. Fresh produce. Even though it's a smaller store, they usually have just what I'm needing. They stock shelves frequently throughout the week and the store is always clean and tidy.”

“I had a car break down in the parking lot. The worker asked if I needed anything and assured me that I was fine to leave the car overnight if I needed. Very helpful in a stressful time. That is the kind nd of customer service that can make a real difference to your customers. Thank you.”

“I work here and I honestly love it. Working with these people and customers is a joy.Besides that the store is stocked with a huge amount of drinks. Each wall is just lined with coolers. You can even consider this a mini head shop. There is over 100 bongs and bubblers and stem pipes all that. Wide variety of vapes too with with about 50 different flavors. You can get also get your everyday needs like dairy products, eggs, and orange juice food too. I can go on and on about the things but that would take litterly 100 pages. Oh and lottery tickets too. Which is very popular. Thanks”

“I'm usually not a fan of Albertsons and only shop there if I need something, and there's not another option close by. I was pleasantly surprised with this specific Albertsons location. I interacted with four different store employees. Three of them were upbeat, friendly, and talkative. I will probably shop there again.”

“They always have a selection of delicious vegan salads in the deli. I purchased some of every vegan option to feed my Masonic brothers, and they ate every bit of it, which is unheard of when we feed them junk. Thanks for having fresh, healthy options for me to share ?”
