Last year was not a fan of the store. Went there again this week. Had excellent experience this time! Great store. Customer service great and store has nice and friendly atmosphere. Has lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. As well the oranges I bought were delicious. Haven’t had that for a while with fruit I bought from some other grocery stores. Went back again already and same thing. Very refreshing experience. Will definitely go again!

Usually good selection of produce and flyer items. Self check-outs have good attendants if you need help. Plenty of parking, but it's on an uphill slope.

It's still in operation. Food Basics is one of the very few reasons to visit Thornhill Square. This store could be cleaner and certainly be more well stocked. Features consistently poor quality fruits and veg. Frequently does not have specials on the day the flyer starts, have to give them an extra day to stock the shelves. Conveniently located close to the level crossing on Green Lane, so if approaching from the west use the first entrance off Bayview otherwise if coming eastbound use the overpass on John. The church adjacent provides a rush of customers filled with the holy spirit to overwhelm both the cashiers and parking lot on Sunday afternoon, so be sure to pack patients and smiles when shopping at that time. Now with self checkout. 5 point update.
