The experience here is phenomenal. The room was great. There’s a nice view of the lake and complementary paddle boats guests are able to sign out. The staff are very friendly and honest people. I highly recommend anyone who stays in Port Carling to choose this hotel :

A couple of pros and some major cons for this hotel. I would not stay here again.
Pros:
- Location. The property is right in Port Carling, with many amenities nearby.
- The suites have a fridge, hot plate, microwave, toaster, and coffee machine
Cons:
- The hotel is dated and not super clean. (Dust buildup in the corners, on the lampshades, etc.)
- The amenities advertised are not what you get. Booking.com stated there is an Electric Charging Station. What they didn't share was that the charger is privately owned by the owner of the hotel. The owner’s Tesla was plugged in for the entire length of our stay and unavailable to us to charge (even after asking) until 30 mins before we were checking out. Also, there isn’t a gym. The website claims there’s a rooftop fitness centre. This is not true.
- The beds are painfully uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and had a large dip in the middle. We were given two small pillows and asked for more, which were promised but not delivered. Sleeping on a couch would have been more comfortable.
To sum up, I don’t recommend these accommodations. I pre-booked on Booking.com, which means two nights were paid in full before we arrived. If I could have walked away after the first night, I very easily would have.

Really nice resort, but bizarre front desk man. Absolutely refused to let me park my empty boat trailer attached to my car, in a nearly empty lot. Said it was against the law to take 2 spaces, he was really weird about it. I decided to park off site for safety, don't trust the guy at all.

Very disappointing. Not as advertised. Front desk unmanned; you need to call a cell number for service, including to check in. The guy at the front desk wasn't rude but also wasn't friendly; customer service was next to nil.
Stayed in family suite. A/C was a window unit with a broke hose that kept falling out of the window. Unit wasn't properly cleaned; found previous guests' clothing in the bedroom. Bedding looked soiled so I had to ask for clean sheets and made the bed myself. Pillows were stained and dirty. Shower curtain covered in orange mold. Propane BBQ out of propane. Watercraft (i.e.peddaloes, paddle boards, kayaks, etc.) with broken rudders, missing or broken paddles. Insufficient number of life vests. On main floor outside of guest public washrooms was an array of items left laying around including an egg carton, a frying pan, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant and used bagged laundry.
Although advertised as beachfront, there is no beach!
Not worthy of the 4.5+ ⭐ rating given on various booking sites and also not worth the almost $500 a night fee.
Rooms: Dirty! Poorly laid out; bathrooms open into kitchen area.
Safety: Not enough life vests . I saw people out on the lake without life vests because there weren't enough to go round.

Had a great time at the Muskoka Lakes hotel over the August 16, 2024 long weekend. Corrie was very helpful and ensured check-in went smoothly as well as provided great advice regarding local restaurants. Lakeview room was lovely, clean and had a spacious balcony overlooking lake Rosseau. The hotel offers large selection of kayaks and other small water crafts for guests to enjoy. Private beach is wonderful as well. The unique aspect of this hotel is that unlike most Muskoka resorts it is located right downtown Port Carling and walking distance to many great restaurants and pubs. Highly recommend. Special thank you to Corrie for being wonderful and welcoming and also to the housekeeping team.

My husband and I stayed here last week for one night. This place is really lovely, right on the water with a nice balcony, has a great kitchenette, very clean and lovely staff. It's downtown location is really convenient. I highly recommend it.
Nearby activities: We did the wine and charcutier cruise on Lady Muskoka II, quite a nice experience, highly recommend.
