I don't often write reviews but wanted to share this info since this place is a gem. I do some light running...mostly walk the dog but have developed plantars fasciitis so have particular needs with shoes. The selection of shoes at the Running Room is incredible but even more incredible is the staff that work there. So knowledgeable, attentive and helpful (expect to spend anywhere between 15 min-45 min just so they make sure you walk (or run ;)) out of there with your best fit shoe. I wish this WAS the standard across the entire service industry. So shout out to Rose at the Merivale location (and apologies to the rest who, over the years, have also provided stellar service). (Oh, another example: deeked into the store quickly the other day but couldn't stay and employee was helping someone else but when he finished, he came over and said, "I noticed you were looking at this one...". Observational skills...Impressive!!!). Prices may be a few dollars higher but the variety of high quality shoes and even higher quality expertise in shoes and high-class service is definitely worth it. Thanks!

Had a great experience buying a pair of walking shoes at the Merivale location! The staff was very helpful and patient, giving me the personalized help I needed to find the perfect pair. The man who helped me was very knowledgable and gave me specially tailored recommendations based on the way that I walk. As someone who has a tendency to get overwhelmed while shoe shopping, my experience here was completely easy and stress-free :)

Robert! My man!I have flat feet so flat they literally make suction cup noises on the floor. Because of this my feet hurt and I have knee issues.Started running, made me feet hurt even more.Went in today to see if they know a thing or two. Man oh man. Robert and his shoe and foot knowledge today literally improved the quality of my life lol. Sounds silly, but I mean it 100%. Just finished a nice run. Still got some left in the tank. I feel great. It's the best money I've spent in a long time.Thanks Robert!!! You really helped me out, in more ways than I expected!

A++!!Robert at the Running Room was an absolute GEM! So helpful and knowledgable, and got my partner and I both into new shoes that suit our various foot issues. I have plantars fasciitis, and am always in a lot of pain by the end of my standing work day and at the gym, and so far, these new Hoka shoes have been a life saver! I could not recommend this store, these shoes, and Robert, enough!

I will no longer shop at any Running Room outlet that attempts to ask "medical questions". Staff in retail stores, any retail store, DO NOT have the authority to ask invasive personal and medical questions when prospective shoppers come in *especially* if the individual is wearing a mask which is Provincially legislated in public places currently. STOP this nonsense and infringement on individual civic rights. Let's use our heads. Is anyone going out public if feeling ill in the current environment, and if so, are they really going to answer "Yes" to any of those questions? I think not. It's beyond ridiculous. I won't set foot in another Running Room store until this non-sense stops.

It is well worth buying the right pair of shoes for your activity. The staff here will take the time and make sure you get the best fit & the right shoes. They really know their stuff. You should definitely pay them a visit!

Amazing staff, very helpful. I've been to many running room locations and this one remains my favorite. The staff is knowledgeable and have been very helpful providing information about racing and events around Ottawa.
