Found this huge Roots store on second floor of Bayshore mall. They had so many Roots products including apparel, accessories, dolls, umbrellas, handbags and lots of other things. The store was very organized and clean. I bought couple of sweatshirts and an umbrella as souvenir. Prices were high as expected for Roots products. The associate at the counter was very friendly, packed all my stuff in a lovely Roots bag. It was quick and easy.

The folks at the store are fairly helpful but I am absolutely shocked at their antiquated return policy! I paid with a credit card and gift card for 4 items and returned 2. You'd think you'd be able to choose where the money gets refunded but no, they FORCE you to accept a full refund of the giftcard before offering you your money back. I feel like this is dishonest and possibly illegal so I'll be sharing the same review with the Better Business Bureau as this policy is ridiculous.
I advise people to not split their transactions if they're forced to shop here, or better yet, DON'T SHOP HERE! I've never seen a company with such a policy where they are forcing you to spend money instead of your gift card.
"Purchases made with a Roots Gift Card/eGift Card will be processed on a new gift card. If you purchased using a Gift Card and Credit Card, the refund will be applied back to a new electronic gift card first, up to the amount that was originally paid by Gift Card. The remaining balance of the return will be issued back to the credit card. We hope this is helpful."

I was in last Friday morning and had the absolutely best experience at this Roots. The staff were extremely helpful and very kind from start to finish. They assisted me in picking out a sweater for my daughter and I could tell they were knowledgeable about all the various products I had questions about. As a bonus store was clean and the products were neatly organized.

The in store staff were somewhat helpful, they were able to complete simple tasks like double checking a size for a sweater in the back. However when it comes ordering or transferring from another store the logistics of that seem to be too difficult for them to handle. They told me a sweater would be transferred from one store to the bayshore location but It has been almost 1 month and the manager hasn't called me or has failed to follow up. I think if you're going there to buy something you should be okay since you would do most of the work anyways but if you have to rely on the management or employees, don't get your hopes up because they will certainly let you down.

I’m the summer of 2022 my daughter was accepted into university and her graduation gift was a beautiful Roots leather bag or satchel. Perfect for bringing her laptop and other items to class. I have never shied away from spending money on a quality product and this cost a little over $500. This would be a forever bag that would see my daughter through university and in to her career.Imagine my shock when, after two weeks of use, the buckles on her bag broke off in September, 2022. She attends school six hours away and so she said she would continue to use the bag and when she returned in late April, 2023 we returned it to the Roots store at Bayshore. They honoured the one year warranty and sent it away for repair. It came back as good as new. Or so we thought.Guess what? It happened again. A few weeks in to her second year at university the same thing happened. The buckles broke off.I inquired earlier today with Roots customer service and their dedication to customer service and conviction in the quality of their product resulted in them offering to sell me one buckle for $20 or two for $35 and it would be sent away for repair. Yes that is sarcasm you’re reading. So tell me Roots if the product broke the first time. The faltered in the same fashion. Why the heck would I support your company in any way, shape or form. While we are outside the one year warranty mark I would contend the repair was poorly done and Roots does not stand behind their product. So me and my family will never buy another toque, another shirt, another pair of sweat pants or even a pen - if they sell those.Their half hearted offer to make things right is an insult and all I can say is shame on you. You lost this customer and I hope more follow after reading this.Scott FerrierThis review is aimed at Roots Canada and not the Bayshore Mall location. A staff member there suggested I contact customer service. “Customer service” there’s a contradiction in words based on my experience

Just left your store. Customer services is important and your staff needs to be reminded of that. Acknowledge customer when they walk in, offer to help and do not mock them.

Went to the Bayshore Roots store today to return a hoodie due to a faulty zipper. One lady who served me was very nice. However the other lady at the cash proceeded to be very rude and insinuated that I was lying about the zipper not working. She was also very short and rude to the lady helping me. I do not expect this type service from Staff at a roots store.

The staff at the bayshore shopping center in Ottawa, Ontario are very unfriendly. They pick and choose who to say hello to and who to help. For the prices of their clothing you would think they would be nicer to customers. I dread going in, but love the roots as a brand but hate the staff. Please work on training them to greet ALL customers. I stood back and witnessed all visible minorities this weekend were purposely ignored and it was very obvious. You need to train your staff better.

Went in today for a sweater for my roomate and left empty handed. I only saw 1 man's sweater in black and it was a small, I asked the Caucasian gentlemen with short hair up front if they had it in other sizes and he rudely mumbled something and pointed to the women's section, after further inspection they only had anything in size small . For expensive items you think they would actually service you on a dead day when multiple people are standing behind the cash
