Just wanted to leave a 5 star review for Steve’s Auto Repair. My truck door broke while delivering at the gas station down the street, the fasteners had gotten loose. Someone from the shop was very kind to help us out. He came and fixed the door in 5 mins and had us on our way, didn’t even charge us for it. You don’t come across shops like that anymore. Genuine, honest and most of all caring. These are the local mechanics that you should trust with your vehicle.

Steve is the best hands down! Used to visit him in Scarborough and now love the proximity of the Leaskdale location.
He exclusively services my husbands work vehicles and is always so accommodating.

If any business deserved a 6 star option, it'd be Steve's Auto.
In today's day and age mechanics will always do their best to nickel, dime and up-sell you on anything and everything they can get away with, but not Steve. He's an honest guy.
I came in with creaking brakes and had relatives tell me that the pads / rotors were most likely worn out so I had set expectations for dishing out a good chunk of change for repairs, but Steve was able to pinpoint the problem to dirt buildup saying that a replacement wasn't necessary.
Most other mechanic would have jumped at the opportunity to up-sell me on replacements, but Steve did not. This is a level of honesty that is very rare in this economy. I travel 70 KM to reach Steve's shop, and it's worth every liter. If you ask for assistance you can be confident that you're dealing with a genuine business run by a genuine family.

Steve and his wife are the absolute best!! Since I’ve been coming to Steve’s Auto Shop, I’ve only received the best service. My car seems to constantly run into issues and I always know that when I go to Steve, he will be honest and provide me with the best service. I’ve come many times to stop and just ask questions about certain issues I’m having and despite how busy he is, he’s always able to lend a helping hand. My whole family goes to Steve now. Thank you so much for being the most hardworking people and always helping me out when I’m in a car jam. This place is the BEST. They are busy for a reason!

Just a little background before I start this review. I've been going to Steve's Auto for almost 15 years now. Please note that I am a Private Investigator and I drive my car into the ground and Steve always finds a way to make my car good as new.
One day Steve had to relocate spots from Scarborough out to Uxbridge but unfortunately, I did not have his number saved on my phone and when I looked him up on Google Maps, I didn't realize that Steve's Auto in Durham was the same one I've been going to for years. I ended up going to two different Mechanics ... one was from a Mazda dealership and the other was recommended. Obviously, they sucked, the problems were not fixed and I needed to find another mechanic asap.
I thought I would call the Steve's Auto Durham because I was desperate and sure enough it was the man himself who answered the phone. I swear to God I was so happy because we all know how hard it is to find a good mechanic.
Anyone reading this review please understand that I traveled almost 50 minutes with my dad to drop my vehicle off. Why would anyone do that? Because on top of this man being one hell of a mechanic, he is honest and gives it to you straight. That's all anyone wants from their mechanic. Please note that my car feels better then ever.

Steve is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. The first time I found his shop my breaks stoped working while I was driving, I pasted his shop, was able to turn around and block the garage doors got out of my car and he was able to assist me asap, everything was fixed that day. I’ve since returned and he’s been great, fast and efficient, kind, he even takes the time to educate and explain everything which means so much to me.

Professional and honest - what a find. I have had Steve work on my vehicles many times now and only praise - no complaints. The man is realistic and honest. Steve does not look to upsell you on anything and explains what is needed and what is not and what can wait. Extremely fair rates, work done when promised, contact with you when needed - no guessing. You wont be disappointed.

I highly recommend Steve. He is one of the 'Old school' mechanics who can find a solution in a really fair and reliable way for any problem. He enjoys a challenge too! Good clean shop, family owned. Hard to find these days. He cares about his clients which is something to be valued.

Steve is one of the most honest and fair mechanics I have ever dealt with. I’ve shopped around other mechanics to work on my 2015 Subaru Wrx Sti and was quoted insane amounts. Steve was able help me out at a reasonable quote and did an amazing job. At a time where shops are very busy, Steve was able to find the time to schedule me in. 100 percent recommend. Will be going to Steve’s Auto Repair for all of my future car needs and repairs.
