So, my husband and I decided to get out today to shop around for a new mattress and this was our first and last stop. Catherine greeted us at the door and when I started with “we’re just going to have a look around” she explained that buying a mattress is a learning process and they would like to give us a quality experience with a professional guide to help us. I'm not going to lie, I was tired and a bit grumpy but having been in sales most of my life, I understand that as a sales person you always want to communicate with the customer as best as possible. Tired as I was, I agreed to the process..

Honestly, I have no idea what the outcome would have been if we had been left to figure it out without her. It’s been a VERY long time since I bought a mattress and things have changed so much that likely, I would have felt overwhelmed and just gone home.
The quality of care given to us not only ended in us purchasing our perfect bed but also made me feel like there was absolutely no need to look anywhere else. I would highly recommend to anyone that they skip the rest and just head straight here. We were with Catherine for roughly 2 hours and her level of patience with us was TOP SHELF!

“We’ve been sleeping long enough now on our Obasan mattress that I can leave a review. It’s wonderful. There is a reason these mattresses are used at the most luxurious hotels, like the Fogo Island Inn.

1. A financially conscious decision: This is the last mattress you will ever buy, so the cost comes out to far, far less than you would pay to keep replacing yours every 5-7 years (our last, very high end Serta which had a similar cost, lasted only 7 years). It is a component mattress. This means that inside the zip up mattress encasement are latex squares. When, for instance, the square at your hips begins to sag in about 10 years or so, you simply move one or both at your feet into that spot. When you need replacements, you only buy the replacement component at $250, not the whole bed.

2. An environmentally conscious decision: It’s made of organic cotton, wool, and latex. There is no off-gassing. The feel is magnificent. Because of the component replacements, you are not creating more mattress waste every 5-7 years. The impact is less on you and the environment.

3. A comfort conscious decision: You set the components to your particular needs. I like a softer bed and am a side sleeper, so I have a soft component where my shoulders are and medium at the hips. If you want it even softer—while getting the proper support—you can get a softer base layer on one side. My partner is a side sleeper, too, but likes a bed that is very firm. He has a medium at his shoulders and firm at his hips with a firm base. Then you can get a luxurious 2 or 4 inch latex and wool topper. Another benefit, because of the separate components and the way latex works, you do not wake as your partner moves during the night.

4. A customer care conscious decision: When you are interested, if you are not near a store, you do a zoom call and they walk you through everything. No hurry. When you take delivery, a team comes to the house with the bed and builds it for you and shows you how to turn over the components (the topper is turned every month. The components are turned every 6 months. They are lovely people and take their time with you.

4a. It’s a small Canadian business that treats its employees well. They do have showrooms on the north east-coast of the US in all the big cities, but its main locations are here. I’m always here for small businesses making quality pieces that do not have to be thrown out.

In sum, this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I put it right up there with buying our Prius. Except the luxury. This is more like the Volvo of beds. If you need a new bed, you won’t come complaining to me if you buy it.”

I like what I just purchased. The delivery process was very smooth & and EFFICIENT !

However : I do have a very valid COMPLAINT

My COMPLAINT is that there was a very large painting / print in the show room that I really liked. I asked if I could take it home on approval to see how it would look in my room as I was concerned that it would be tooo big !
The room I wanted it for is not a big room and only standard 8 ft. ceilings. If it didn’t work I would have returned it the very next morning. ( I would have paid for it and would expect a refund if returning it )

They would NOT allow me to take it home on approval.
That is my complaint.
I’ve been a customer for many years and bought many pieces of expensive furniture from them in the past.
This is really NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE !”
