Great rural wifi. I have done over 6000 installations. Many of those were forwarded from xplornet. When this happens they sell the account. WE have to follow their rules and procedures and the customer agrees to those procedures. To roll for a site visit costs over $100. We are only allowed to charge $75. If we find the closest tower is over subscribed we try and find an alternate. We cannot even mention we have a tower next to them (unless they ask us directly) That is where I draw the line. Their customer their rules. How many accounts could I have right now if I acted differently. 27 years I have dedicated myself to this industry as a pioneer without any government handouts. I sincerely thank all the customers who have loyally supported us and helped us to succeed thru thick and thin. WE managed to have more local towers than any other company enabling us to provide internet in places no one else could For any of you that my company or some employee may have offended please feel free to call me personally and I will do my best to make it right. They are the local Xplornet installers for the Barrie area. I have had two pretty awesome experiences. The first time about 7 years ago the installer was awesome. He was friendly and quick. I recently upgraded Xplornet's service and they installer was not the same guy but equally as awesome. Very pleased with the team they have here.

I asked for internet service in Thornton Ontario. Guy came and told me you cant have internet because our tower is full and closed for new connections. He charged $75 without a single effort. He could have said over the phone but greedy wanted to charge. They just pretend professional but they are garbage.

Save your self a big hassle and use Point to Point Broadband we switched because the lack of customer service and very happy we didTalked to a few neighbors in the community they said go with point to point you will be much more happyAs they say "bad gas travels fast in small towns"

Absolute worst company to deal with. They charge you a " tower climb fee" when they come to your house. And it changes everytime they come. Could be 50 dollars, could be 100 dollars. They are ignorant, and poor customer service and send their techs that dont actually fix the problem! Had one tech come out here and sit in my living room. Couldnt fix the issue from his laptop so it was deemed unfixable... he didnt go through all the steps, he didnt change any wires and he didnt check the box on my roof. I was still charged 80$ for him to " climb my tower" which he didnt do. And had a tech come back the next day to fix it. Jamie and woman at the desk both got some chip on their shoulder. When questioned why the fee changes everytime I call they now wont come back to my house and declined the work order. They are all about sticking their hands in your pockets. They over charge for their poor service. They have been to my house to " fix problems" many times only to have another tech come back and try to fix it again. Or their shift is over and they leave to come back the next day. If you have another tech company in your area I suggest you go through a different one.

Had ultrafast come out to set us up with internet and home phone. Well I'm so used to having one problem after another trying to get service in my old home town I didn't expect such great service. Friendly, on time, from the tec to the call center I couldn't be happier.

This is the only review I have ever made and Im 53. Never been treated so badly by a company. Beware extremely unprofessional. had this company install explorenet. sent a guy out who checked property, went on roof and concluded the only way was to put a post in a spot he marked and cut down two trees. I did so at a cost of 550 dollars and called back. They sent out another tech who mounted dish on post and could not get signal then looked at me and said why didn't he put on roof. He mounted on roof and it all worked. I called Rob at ultrafast asking for some compensation for the money I paid and he emailed me back stating that the first guy was incompetent and fired as well as license revolked however if I had any issues Rob would help me get in contact with the guy. The deal was with ultrafast not the employee or sub contractor hired by ultrafast. I have left 5 unreturned calls and will pursue this in another manner.

Just had one of those "i cant believe they followed up on that for me" experiences with this company. I have had cause to deal with them before and they have been fine to deal with, but today their follow up was over and above.

Rob did a great job his techs cames out did a great job dealt with xplorenet before an they told me i needed a tower rob said i didnt i would refer them any day of the week dont listen to peoples reviews that are negative shows the character of their personality all i can say is they did me an my family a solid they know their stuff
