Horrible! Horrible! Stay away! Been customer of Fifth Third for over 30 years. Recently wanted to get a HELOC (building new house but don't want to sell current house til done with build). Started process thru banking center - turned in boatload of required documents (basically all but blood of first born child!). Got notified via email by a "Consumer Credit Loan Specialist" person that they needed more - which we provided. Then they said they couldn't verify my husband's credit thru TransUnion due to 'fraud alert' on his acct. After MULTIPLE calls to TransUnion, the "Loan Specialist" AND the local bank rep, we finally figured out it had to do with an alert WE requested be put on his acct - 30+ years ago!! (new tenant in apt my husband had lived in got CC in his name from mail that didn't get forwarded). TransUnion no longer even reflected it - so NO idea where Fifth Third got their info from - but they kept telling us they HAD to call 'that' phone number to follow up on the 'alert' - from 30+ years ago!?! Well...anyone over the age of 30 knows where this is going....yep - it was under a LANDLINE number we had at time...which LONG AGO was disconnected!!! We could NOT talk ANY sense into the "Loan Specialist" or the local bank rep - couldn't get a combined brain cell to fire off....so we were at a standstill. Mind you, we have an 'excellent' credit score rating - and our current house (which is paid for) would have been the collateral for the HELOC... None of it made sense!! So my husband finally said 'Never mind! We'll go elsewhere!' after wasting weeks of our time with these incompetent 'bankers' (and I use the term lightly given no 'banking' was actually ever done!) Just do yourself a favor and bank elsewhere! It'll save you time and effort - you'll thank me later!OH - and to top it all off, MY credit score took a hit because they did a HARD inquiry TWICE!!! Both my husband and I were going to be on loan - so they ran credit on both of us. Mine was fine the FIRST time - but for some unknown reason they did a second inquiry on me while trying to get the issue with my husband's report straightened out...!! Seriously...! So score dropped 12 points due to these incompetent people!

HORRIBLE! The "banker" couldn't complete my transaction without assistance even when I wrote down exactly what I wanted. Charged me for two cashiers checks. Took almost an hour for a simple transaction. Branch manager was too busy chatting with another branch to help. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.

Went to 5/3 on 6/8/2023, to add my husband to my checking account. Courtney was amazing! We had great conversation. I made an appointment with her to open up a business checking and savings account. Went in yesterday, 6/13/2023 to open that up. Was missing my EIN and she was patient as I waited on hold to retrieve, then ended up finding it in my photos on my phone! Was able to open up the business accounts and get out there.

The team at the Maxtown (Westerville North) branch is friendly and helpful. At Fifth Third you get a personal banker and while the toll-free customer service isn't remarkable (and it's not 24/7), I've found the branch is responsive when I've had an issue. I've had a couple of issues with backoffice configuration of the bank's technology--not a fault of the branch--but the branch stayed on top of those issues until they were resolved by corporate. They are renovating the branch to make it more relational and I love that they're so dog-friendly. The "free" (Momentum) checking is market competitive but I found the second, "relationship" banking for my small business to be one of the best values in Columbus. Fifth Third has been focused on customer service so they do send surveys fairly frequently and they follow-up on your comments.

I've been a client of 5th 3rd for years. I wish I can leave less than one star. This particular location has to be the worst branch in banking history. The tellers are rude and are always very slow. It doesn't seem like their trained in proper banking procedures. The drive-through ATM never works. I've had my 5th 3rd banking and savings account hacked 2 different times in the past 3 months. When I spoke to the branch manager she didn't know how to handle the situation.
