“The store was clean and the shelves pretty well stocked. They have a decent selection of grocery items with some lesser-known brands. We gambled on a few today and shall see. The cashier lanes were moving efficiently. The quarter for a cart thing is still weird to me and I left mine in the cart like always. I struggled between and 3 and 4 stars for the rating, but gave them the benefit of the doubt this time.”
“I love this Southside market. Located in a former Kroger store. They have great close outs right when you walk through the doors. Grab a cart on the way in you're going to want to fill up. A FRESH produce section full of all your needs for Mexican Cuisine. They have a HUGE selection of Badia spices, I avoid Goya at all cost. If you love Fidello they have a nice selection of pastas that work great. I love the smaller store versus the Big Box stores. The service is always friendly which is a nice plus. Although small they have a WIDE variety.”

“I lived in the neighborhood over 50 yrs ago. I remember the different names of the store now called Family Food Center. I stopped in recently and was very impressed with the updates, the new owners and the friendly staff as I looked around I saw fresh produce decently priced and surprisingly fresh, the kinds of fresh meats great for any soul food dish, spices I have been looking for at other stores and couldn't find. I will be coming back to Family Foods at least once or twice a month. Thank you for keeping this well maintained grocery store in this neighborhood.”

“I have been going to Claudia’s for years. My doctor asked me about my supplements, of course they wanted me to just bow down to big pharma. Not to get off track and on my soapbox. Claudia’s always has helpful staff, and knowledgeable too. I was dealing with pain from a surgery, between the government and the doctors they are not even prescribing enough medication for pain. “I love their fresh produce when I do purchase them. A lot of the time when I have purchased their produce, they were fresh, example: I recently purchased green seedless grapes, the juiciest plump firm crunchiest perfectly sweet round not oval grapes almost taste organic didn't taste a drop of chemical,but my purchase depends on my budget at that particular moment or if I already have it at home. My visit to this store is solely to buy a particular type of meat due to the price at that moment. This is my go to store for a quick purchase. I still have not gone through the entire store due to the set up.”
