I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like I should with this one. I came in needing a root touch up as well as a couple shades lighter all over. I'm in a musical and they want me platinum, something that wouldn't be difficult considering my hair is already about a level 9 and exceptionally healthy.
The stylist at Gardenia agreed that my hair was healthy enough to bleach, but insisted I would be content with "just toner". I repeated myself multiple times to no avail. I should have walked out then, but I had rehearsal the rest of the day and a photoshoot the next morning, so I chose getting at least my roots done over nothing at all.
I understand that I pull brassy, but it's not hard to lift the actual levels of my hair. I left with roots that were bright yellow and multiple levels darker than the length. She toned it three separate times and I still left with bright yellow. She insisted that purple shampoo would fix it (it did not) I have never had this issue with any salon in my hometown.
I also have never had a sensitive scalp, and have never had any issues with itching or burning. I told her it was irritating my skin and she didn't even respond. My scalp was burning for days afterwards.
I feel like the $70 spent on this service was completely wasted. I cried over how ridiculous I looked. It is one thing to listen to your customer's concerns and try everything you can, but it's another to completely blow them off and not do what they asked. I'd understand if it needed to be done in sessions or if my hair wasn't healthy enough to mess with, but this absolutely wasn't the case. If the cosmetology students at my old high school could do it, then it can be done.
I'm upset not only because I'm unsatisfied with my hair, but because she was really quite nice. She wasn't rude, just incredibly dismissive. You wouldn't have someone come in to get a pixie cut and tell them "I think you'd be happy with shoulder length" so why do it with chemical services? You do not know what your client wants better than they do.
The only good thing I got out of this was realizing that I need to stand my ground and stick up for myself more. I'm really upset with this experience. Definitely won't be going back.

I got my nails done yesterday. I sat for 2 hours and they did not turn out at all how I wanted and the shape was terrible. I had to have a friend come over and completely fix them
