The Golden Inn in New Paris, Ohio is one of the sweetest of "Mom & Pop" motels we've found. We travel A LOT and with our pick of chain hotels within five minutes of this place, we ALWAYS pick The Golden Inn because of its professional, personable and always friendly owners, Jeff & LeeAnn along with its spotless rooms, a convenient location just a little off interstate 70 (border of Ohio & Indiana) with the quietest of surroundings and a price you seriously can't beat! Throw in the inviting Apple Harvest gift shop across the street with scrumptious homemade donuts and the Cedar Coffee coffee shop five minutes down the road and one will have everything they'll need for a perfect stopover. Thank you, LeeAnn & Jeff for another great stay! Mittens loved it, too! :)

This place felt right out of a book, it was retro, quaint, and run by a lovely local lady. I love supporting mom and pop business like this one. The room felt like a cozy cabin, I loved the vintage touches from the quilt to the blue tile in the bathroom, and the lovely view of the woods out back. Will definitely stay here again if I pass through the area.

My husband and I loved this Inn! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a cute vintage flair. The bed was firm and comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and the water came out nice and hot. The owners were very welcoming. Beautiful property and we loved getting coffee and homemade doughnuts from the store across the road. We will definitely be staying here the next time we pass through.

We overnighted here in July 2023 and had a delightful experience. At the first call for information we were treated kindly and given options and information for our arrival. Easy entry via key pad. Our pup was welcomed with a reasonable fee.The room was truly charming. Authentic retro and spotless. Cozy and sparkling clean. Not even spiders and nasty things in the corners. Bed, pillows and linens were great and we had a comfortable, quiet night. The grounds are beautiful. I wish we had had more time to enjoy them.You will want to cross the road in the morning for the fresh made donuts and gifts. The cream cheese donut was heavenly.

Posting this as our roady/foodie handle, Travelingby Carr GandR...Fancy, no...Affordable, yes...TV channels a bit lacking, but comfortable bed, good water pressure and our hosts were very friendly...Across the street is a place for coffee & donuts...Just a bit off the beaten path, TravelingbyCarr gives Golden Inn a solid 4 stars...

This place is halfway between where we live and where our family lives and it's simply the best place in the world to stop for a night after driving all day with a big fussy dog. The woman who runs it remembered us from A YEAR AGO and is so friendly and helpful. It hasn't been "updated" for like 50 years but is very charming, super clean, comfy, quiet, and safe. If you arrive after they close, reception is still available by phone and will help you access your room. No, there isn't breakfast or any frills but for the price and the service, it's so worth it!! Even with a pet fee it's incredibly affordable. We love Golden Inn!!!

5/5 - you do need to understand what to expect, and I could not have been happier with this old school motel. Just a bit off the commercialized beaten path, very peaceful. Room was very clean, even spacious. Owners live on site, so do follow their request to check in before 9PM or call to check in before arrival. Very nice hosts, everything was as expected at a fair rate. I do plan to stay with these folks again. Great recommendations for locally owned restaurants and other businesses from the innkeeper.

Nice, clean basic motel. Rooms were clean. Microfridge was good to have. Very nice tv. We rented two rooms for one night on a road trip. We were late getting there so they gave us the door code over the phone. Backed right up to the doors, was able to unload quickly and easily. Well lit parking lot. Ice machine in lobby to refill our cooler. Lovely quiet area. Only downside I'd say was no fans in the bathroom or lock on door but not a big deal. I'd stay there again. Good price.Rooms: Clean and comfortableSafety: Well lit parking lot. Windows seem to roll out and have screens on the windows.Food & drinks: Microfridge in room. Ice machine in lobby

These reviews are amazing. This motel is lacking so much, including a bathroom with heat. Straight out of the 40s, the room itself has been updated BUT the windows, the curtins, the flower boxes - I could go on - are retro at best. Spend #1 more, go into Richmond and find yourself a modern-day hotel with heated bathrooms and cable TV. You won't catch me here again.

Quaint little motel right off I70. Owners engaged and willing to assist any needs. Was able to check in at 9AM, where else can you do that these days???Rooms: Touch of the old days feel, clean and cozyNearby activities: Richmond, IN 5 minutes away and across the street a harvest style marketSafety: Sleep in peaceWalkability: On a state highway, can walk around the grounds but would not walk to other stores from here.Food & drinks: Only ice machine on the grounds

Old and dated but clean . Owner was nice. Pet friendly and FAR cheaper than anyplace near Indianapolis. Just needed a place to sleep and this place fit the bill.
