Walking into this Giant Eagle to pick up my meds, is like walking into a Wes Anderson film. Why is there no drive thru for the pharmacy?! I’m guessing because the parking is not set up for that..When they have the “head pharmacist” come over and speak to me about my meds, he comes off condescending and rude. I cringe when I go in here. I’m looking for a new place!

The pharmacist and the staff are great. Very helpful, very knowledgeable.

Zero stars. This pathetic excuse for a friendly neighborhood pharmacy is a waste of space in an otherwise beautifully maintained historical landmark of a city. Not only does it not have a drive thru, speaking with any one of the staff is like being scolded by the middle school principal. It’s horrifying, unnecessary, and downright embarrassing for everyone unlucky enough to bear witness, let alone be directly involved. This pharmacy location was suggested to me by the friendly and courteous staff at the W. 117th location after they were unable to fill one of my prescriptions due to stocking issues. From the beginning of my phone call, I was made to feel like I had interrupted something far more important. After I gave my name, birthdate, and refill request, I was placed on hold while the pharmacy tech checked to make sure it could be filled. After some time, the call resumed, this time with a new voice introducing themselves as a pharmacist. I gave my name, birthdate, and refill request again. Without having to hold, the pharmacist was quick to tell me they wouldn’t be able to fill my 3-month supply. I corrected him that I only require a 1-month supply, to which, he told me that the stock at his store is low, and he has to have enough for his “regular patients” at his particular store. I pointed out that I was a Giant Eagle pharmacy customer that filled regularly at the location on W. 117th, among others, and was encouraged by them to call. To these obvious tender pleas for amnesty, I was repeatedly told the exact same thing in a truly astonishing number of variations. When I then told him that I felt that was a pretty rude way to operate, considering I need the medication, he showed no signs of empathy, talking speedily about shortage of stock everywhere and having to fill other prescriptions for the day. At one point, he even told me I was misunderstanding him, followed by, “I wish I could help you, but I have to prioritize the people that live 2 blocks away.” I had to laugh at this point, so I knew it was time to give up. I thanked him for absolutely nothing, and hung up to call another Giant Eagle location. The very next location that I called was able to set up my prescription refill in a matter of minutes. It genuinely boggles the mind how it pays to be so downright unkind. I hope all the staff has a great day today, maybe catch some positive vibes. And I hope none of the LaKeWoOd ReGuLaR PaTieNts ever have to feel the type of ostracizing treatment I experienced this morning.

They must treat their workers like sh*t. Seriously, there's no other reason to consistently be this short-staffed.I stopped in to pick up some hot foods from the deli. There wasn't any. The hot foods section was closed down. Deli- closed.Fresh meats and seafood- closed.Long lines to check-out.The self scanning is at best a nightmare. 9 out of 10 times assistance is needed mid-scan.Shut it down! Remaining workers, I'm sorry but you can do better.

!!! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO SCOTT !!!
(Curbside Delivery)
He didn't have to personally drive to my home but he did!!! An extremely unprofessional Door Dash delivery driver deliberately left my entire order on my apartment lobby (1st) floor and told me on the phone after refusing to deliver my groceries to my actual apartment door to "KISS MY A**"!!! Scott actually listened to me on the phone and is holding that gentleman accountable for his inappropriate and unprofessional actions, something that hardly ever happens anymore in this overly sensitive world ... Thank you for going above and beyond for me. Giant Eagle is lucky to have you and I hope appreciates you and the excellent work you do along with the extremely caring service you give to your customers. You are a breath of fresh air and a true diamond in the rough!!!

Yes, unfortunately it's as bad as most say..but it is nearby & usually a quick in & out when in a pinch. dont count on it having a specific item or for any special occasion aside from a simple kids birthday cake you may need on demand..& still there are no guarantees in life, especially at this supermarket (not very super).

This store is absolutely awful. I've never seen a business make it so difficult to buy anything... hard to navigate the store, which looks like it's from 80s, and nothing works... how is this place still open?

Do you like your produce to look like it came from a dumpster? Do you like it to go bad within a millisecond of entering your home? Do you like your meat to be riding on the edge of giving you a food-borne illness? Come on down to this Giant Eagle. They get two stars because they can't mess up (most) frozen, dry, and canned goods.

The only reason I shop here is because its nearby, although the prices and lines aren't worth the hassle. Then, they started offering Curbside and Delivery. I have placed 4 orders for pickup or delivery and 4 orders have had missing items that weren't refunded. I also find that 50% of the stuff shown online does not exist in store. Today, I had 16 items placed for order and 4 of them were available. Total waste of time and resources. Update: I tried ONE LAST TIME and I placed an order for Delivery on Sunday evening. It never showed up. The DELIVERY NEVER SHOWED UP. It sat "In Process" until the next morning when I had to CALL THEM to try to figure out what happened. It gets delivered 24 hours later and its missing items that I paid for. I spent time on the phone, I was told they would call back. That was two hours ago.

Yesterday I witnessed either racism or horrible customer service by someone who appeared to be in mgmt of some sort. While entering the store, a young lady in front of me did not have a mask and the employee at the entrance stated she needed one and could sell her one for a dollar. The young lady (African American) stated that she didn't have a dollar and only had enough money for what she needed in the store and the very nice employee said ok & gave her the mask free of charge. Someone who appeared in mgmt stormed over and said "No! You can pay for the when you check out". So not only did mgmt cause a scene over $1, but she embarrassed the employee and the young lady. I felt horrible for them both. This happened yesterday afternoon around noon. Giant Eagle should look at who was working and possibly view the security cameras to confirm. I would like to add though that they do have a great employee that works the check out lines and she is the nicest person and always so helpful (Betty). The fried chicken here is also pretty amazing but not enough to make up for that horrible display I witnessed yesterday.

Ordered curbside delivery thru them, was charged, order simply never showed up, no one would answer the phones. When I finally got through to someone at the 800 number, she took all my info and hung up on me. I'm out $100 with no groceries.
