My cats went here for years and only recently did I learn that they had one of my cat's age wrong by a few years. I should have known then that these weren't the right people to treat my babies. My middle kitty started to throw up a few months ago and thus started months of problems. Expensive tests ordered when there were steps that should have been taken first. Staff more focused on blaming me instead figuring out what was wrong with my cat. After her throwing up on and off for months and no answers from Red Maple I finally got a second opinion and it saved my cat's life. I was horrified when the answer turned out to be not only something that has absolutely never considered by Red Maple, but to learn that several of the things that the staff here told me where completely false and not at all medically possible to be the cause of the vomiting. The second opinion vet I went to actually laughed out loud at one of the theories from RM. I had reservations about the pricing and lack of transparency from RM, they act like pulling up a quote for a test is the most difficult thing in the world and their prices are absurdly high. But Dr. Burns has a tendency to go to extremes and rile up pet parents so they can charge for expensive tests and then still find a way to blame the pet parent for whatever is wrong with the pet.
I want to be clear, my cat had been throwing up on and off for months and had last almost 2 pounds in 3 months. If I had not gone to a second vet it is very likely that my cat would have gone into organ failure and died very soon. All for a completely treatable condition like IBD, a few days on medication and she was back to her old self. And what made the biggest difference was the 2nd vet actually listened to me, something I did not feel happened at RM.

I cannot say enough positive things about Red Maples Vet and the incredible team led by Dr. Marian Burns. For the past 35 years, Dr. Burns has been caring for our family's pets as well as those of our friends, and her unwavering dedication and expertise have consistently impressed us.
From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with warmth and professionalism. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure both pets and their owners feel comfortable and cared for.
Dr. Marian Burns is truly exceptional. Her expertise, compassion, and dedication to her patients are evident in every interaction. She takes the time to thoroughly explain diagnoses, treatment options, and any procedures, ensuring that you are well-informed and confident in the care your pet is receiving. Her gentle and calming demeanor helps to ease any anxieties, making visits to the vet a much less stressful experience.
The clinic itself is clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and they clearly have a genuine love for animals. They handle routine check-ups, emergency visits, and everything in between with the utmost care and efficiency.
I highly recommend Red Maples Vet and Dr. Marian Burns to any pet owner looking for top-notch veterinary care. They truly treat your pets as if they were their own, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
Thank you,
Jen, Guy, and Girlfriend

Red Maples Veterinary Clinic is dismissive to the concerns of their patrons and their decision-making is grossly incompetent due to antiquated technology. I'm a former patron of this clinic and took my service dog to be evaluated by Dr. Burns and her team because he had vomited 3 times within approximately 12 hours. He wasn't keeping food or water down, so as a concerned dog-parent, I took him in to be screened. An x-ray was taken, and regardless of whether the x-ray itself was poor due to equipment being outdated (which they admitted to) or whether their x-ray analysis was poor, an "explorative surgery" was recommended for my service dog to clear an "unknown mass." After spending hundreds of dollars with Red Maples, I spent $1,000 at MedVet (an animal ER facility) to receive a second opinion, which was in my dog's best interest, because absolutely no digestive obstruction was discovered and the notion of an "explorative surgery" was deemed "totally unreasonable." It turned out recent dietary changes were causing my dog's adverse reactions. Addressing this matter with Dr. Burns resulted in her flaunting her 40 years of veterinary experience in my face and inviting me to find another vet if I was so inclined. She also stated she didn't realize I would have wanted, could fully understand, or could afford every alternative treatment course of action, so she didn't offer them. This is not a lie or an exaggeration... Realizing mistakes happen and that we all have bad days and make bad calls, I was willing to forgive Dr. Burns' incompetence and indecency and called months later to schedule an appointment for my dog. Well..., Dr. Burns called me back to make the message clear that I was fired as a patron for questioning her. Again, not a lie and not an exaggeration... Her statements left me appalled and offended...AGAIN, and in my quiet time of reflection, I felt stupid for even being willing to forgive her and rekindle the patient/patron relationship. In closing, if you truly love your pet and don't want a veterinarian dictating to you/your pet and who's unwilling to admit when they're wrong and healthily resolve conflict, you DO NOT want to retain Dr. Burns and Red Maples Veterinary Clinic as your provider of choice. Their prices are low and they're a smaller operation, and I now know the reason: You apparently get what you pay for, and people will never remain in relationships where they aren't valued and respected.
