Quite the spectacular place! It started as a state fairground and eventually became the Conservatory as seen today. Grand glass ceilings that reach to the heavens in displaying so many varied plants and foliage. Going on a sunny day is a must, as it enhances the plants within. One can use their AAA card to get an admittance discount. The glass, scattered throughout the buildings, is made by the famous glass maker Chihully (sp). The buildings are kid friendly and wheelchair friendly. The cafe is extremely good and very reasonably priced.

Our family are regulars at the conservatory. I cannot speak highly enough about it and always take out of town guests here. It’s clean, well staffed and absolutely beautiful.

The grounds are beautiful and worthy of 5 stars but the management leaves much to be desired. On the day of our family visit the palm house area (shown in the photo) was closed for a private event. When we asked if we could come back just to see the palm house the next day, we were told quite rudely that the closure information is on the website so they do not let people back. When we opened the website and they weren't able to show us where the closure information is noted, her tactics changed and she said that it is only one room and you can look from the outside!!! The fact remains that at no point in the booking process does it highlight that a specific section would be closed on the day and I find that quite dishonest as a business practice.

Wonderful experience. Have been coming to Franklin Park years. Married in the conservatory 30 years ago.

I definitely did not take enough photos. Luckily, my fiance did. This place was amazing.

Beautiful conservatory, amazing living gallery of plants and art!!! There are installations and exhibits that change periodically and every single one of them is worth attending. They also put on events at the Conservatory and if you get a chance to attend, go!!!
Update 10/26/24: the Halloween event, pumpkins aglow, is spectacular and highly recommend going!

This park is always clean and neat. I'm proud to say folks take very good care of their park! It's quiet in the early morning. I just love walking through this park!

$25 per person for myself and my family to get in, but welfare bums get in for $3. What an absolute joke! This place is a tax-bleed economically discriminating against productive members of society. A quick look at their operational budget and revenue statements will make you absolutely appalled.

Went to Pumpkins Aglow. The entire outside is set up for fall. There are mums everywhere and yes 1000's of pumpkins. Once the sun goes down you can see how many carved pumpkins there are. There are activities for young kids to do as well as the play area. The trees are lit with purples, green and red. There are multiple scenes with pumpkins and gourds ( tree, house, cornucopia). Nothing is to spooky for younger kids. They did have food trucks and some seating. Inside on the 1st floor were glass blown pumpkins for sale. They were done by local artist. There was plenty of parking.

Not too shabby! Both adults and kids can enjoy! Great preservation. Loved the trains and the waterfalls. Cute pumpkins, fog and skeletons.
