If I could give a lower star review I would. I took a van in to have it looked at as there was an oil leak in the engine, to which they replied that it was nothing to worry about and was from a previous repair. They gave me an estimate for a bunch of other repairs that I could've found myself and that were pretty minor, but I was most concerned with the engine. I declined the other repairs as they were kind of trivial, and I got them repaired elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. Fast forward months later, my engine is spewing oil, in the exact spot I told them to look at. They charged me for a diagnosis, didn't look closely, and now my vehicle is in bad shape. I called to see if maybe there was something to do to resolve this, but I was argued with and was talked to in a condescending tone. Go somewhere else then! Was the last thing I heard on the phone. Awful service, overpriced, and they're incredibly rude. How can a place like this stay in business?

South Dayton Auto was a life saver! We were getting ready to go on vacation and my Tahoe overheated. They got me in right away and fixed my antifreeze tank. They also did a whole safety check of my entire vehicle at my request due to my upcoming trip and concern over my vehicle’s age. The team found a few other things they recommended to fix for my trip and all were important for a long drive!
I had all of the repairs done and the prices and labor quoted were more than fair. Way cheaper than a rental car or being stranded on vacation! I’m planning to take both my kids’ vehicles for an overall check as well. I couldn’t be happier with the service and repairs I received!! Highly recommend and trust this team. The owner, Shane, is a high caliber person and patriot. So grateful to have found a place I can trust!

I had a great stand-out customer experience with South Dayton Auto and Truck! Both the office and the garage were very respectful and easy to talk to. Trustworthy vibes. And very well priced, especially for the quality of service given. They also have a great online customer experience for work; very transparent. All I can say is KUDOS to the team here. I had my timing belt go out on me and they hauled my car back to the garage. They kept me informed on their progress and all the other things that needed attention. I gave them the approval to go ahead every time another problem came up. Shane just wanted to let me know how much more it was going to be just in case I was on a strict budget. Anyway, as soon as I got in the car with a friend, they even said how much better the car sounded and drove. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I will be back but, hopefully it won't be for a long time.

While traveling home to Michigan my car starting making a loud grinding and rubbing sound. I ask the hotel clerk for an auto repair shop. I was recommended to South Dayton Auto & Truck Service. Shane Smith was available to take my car in first thing the next morning. My front brakes were not working at all. It took the greater part of the day and there was a different sound coming from the wheel area when the brakes were finished. It was obvious Shane was not happy he had to

Have been taking my vehicles to Shane and Jaymon for several years now. Recently we hit the mother of all potholes with our foreign transplant sedan. There were air bags deployed, wheel damage, and other issues. Needless to say we had to get the insurance company involved because it was a complex case involving safety equipment replacement and coordination between certified new parts from the manufacturer and a long list of mandatory work to be done required by law. These guys handled it like the real pros they are---no problems coordinating with insurance or the manufacturer. And the work itself was a exceptionally complicated with side air bag curtain replacement and all the sensor and computer work. They did it all just like it rolled off the assembly line like new. I am now convinced, more than I was before, that there isn't anything a fancy-shmantz dealership (service or body shop) can do that these guys can't handle... they can probably do more and a lot better. And they don't lie, jack up prices, or push non necessary work. They also don't wear nice starched shirts, have phony baloney smiles or a line of B/S a mile long like you get at the dealerships. They do however have dirty hands and fingernails, and that's why I highly recommend them. If you want honest, trustworthy mechanics in a low overhead operation who get the job done, get over to South Dayton.
