They sold out and would not recommend the new place. They kept trying to charge me for a vet bill that wasn't my dog. For over a year I kept telling them it was no my dog, but they kept sending me the bill.

Love Dr Southard, but it can be difficult to get in quickly at times. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff!

One vet in surgery although three names are listed on their sign. No one else available. Trying to reach them by phone is nearly impossible and don't expect a call back on a normal day. Vet staff denied to email me my pet's vet records as we were heading to OSU for an emergency illness. My pet has a fatal allergy to a sedative and I needed to provide this to the ER hospital. I had to waste time driving with my sick cat to to hospital to pick up his records. Very unfortunate uncaring and unaccommodating staff. I will not go back. They couldn't care less. I am still in shock at this treatment. 0 stars.

We have gone to this vet office for all of our pets for 7 years. They do a great job with all our pets. Recently our dog began to bleed and her eating pattern changed quickly. They put her in for surgery the very same day we called. I found this amazing. Additionally, they always work with you on pricing- as in being honest about what's necessary and what you are comfortable with. In this case, the vet believed she had mouth cancer. He did not talk us into a biopsy because he said whether it was cancer or benign, didnt change the prognosis in our dogs case. So no need to charge us for an unnecessary test. They have done this type of thing before with the pets.

Alexandria Animal Hospital is a five star clinic. Dr. Southard and Dr. Jenkins are very compassionate doctors. We have been going to this clinic for over 20 yrs and would highly recommend to any new clients looking for a vet "that cares", as if it were their own pet. The office staff, as well, is friendly and accommodating with helping you scheduling appointments at your convenience.

Our first visit to this establishment was a year ago when we adopted a puppy. We purchased a home so new to the area and Alexandria was recommended to us by friends. We have always had great service for our dog, never any issues with scheduling or getting in when needed. Both vets we have met with have been professional, friendly and seemed very caring. However, during my last visit, while the dog and I were waiting for our names to be called, we sat on the one side with kittens/cats up for adoption. I have been debating for awhile now about getting a couple as we have plenty of room and love for them. I played with 1 and it was instantly purring, loving and attention seeking. I was sold. I gave the other one attention and same reaction. I thought this would be great! I have 2 daughters and there was a kitten for each of them. 1 feisty and 1 chill - just like them, so I inquired. I was given an application for each (I have never formally adopted a pet before so unfamiliar with procedures) we have always obtained our previous animals by them basically being thrown away so this was new to me and I was fine with it. But when I was completing my paperwork I was told that 1 of the kittens may not be available because the vet hadn't decided if she wanted it and if so would be very particular who she approved to adopt it. I thought no problem, I have no record whatsoever of anything, we have a nice house in the country with pastures and between myself and my children plenty of love for them. I was told I did not have to provide my drivers license number that basically this was a personal preference of the vets who this kittens would go to. No one else had applied for them at this point so I was very excited for the possibility of our new cute additions. I turned in my applications and was told the doc would review them when she arrived later that day and I should know something in the next few days. I did let them know I was headed out of town that weekend but would definitely be back and available to pick them up as early as monday (I believe it was a wed or thurs) so they reassured me they could keep them until then if the vet doc gave the A ok. I am sad to say, I never heard anything from anyone regarding the kittens. I made the mistake of telling my kiddos about them. I even took my adult son by to see them that same week and he thought they were perfect for his little sisters. I had a scheduled appt for my dog almost 1 month later. The playful kitten was still there. The other kitten that was in question if the vet wanted - was gone. Now Im questioning what my vet really thinks of me. No clue why I was denied. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason. So do they not like me from the few visits I have had with my pup? Did they not see we have a nice house with plenty of space. I just don't get it and question why I should take my business to some place that doesn't trust me to adopt pets. I thought adopting through the vet was a great option, now it makes me wonder how they view me. Still a month later and no word regarding my application. Heartbroken and sad this was not handled professionally and now wondering if I should take my business elsewhere. Happy but not happy with my experience. Kind of embarrassed I was kind of denied to adopt a kitten. Not sure I will try again after this experience

This place was really great with my little dog. I called around & got estimates over 200 & here I was charged less than 100. Just because it was less doesn't mean they skimp on treatment. They were thorough & did a few extras. This is my new go to vet office!
