I will never use liberty tax again. I received a letter from akron city tax division saying that Theresa from the canton road office incorrectly filed my city tax for the last 3 years. I spent over a month leaving voice mails and emails for the owner with no reply, finally received a call and she was extremely rude. I explained what happened and what the city tax division said and all she kept saying is well sir we are human we make mistakes and when I said a mistake would be once not 3 years in a row she got very aggressive and rude.

Judy talk on the phone or was watching T.V. more then she bothered to explain anything to me or what I needed to do. She forgot to prepare the city taxes till I questioned it. Getting taxes done is stressful and having to pay someone to talk on the phone and watch TV just did not sit right with me.

Love that office on Canton road. Next to drug mart. She remembers me every year. I get caught off guard every time because I never remember her. Thanks Theresa Rose. Glad you love my cologne ? ?
Sorry, I'll try harder next time to change the smell up. ?

Confirm their charges up front! Liberty Tax has prepared our taxes since 2018. Tax year 2018 paid $250.00. 2019 paid $250.00. 2020 paid $255.00. 2021 paid $281.00. 2022 (this year) charged $395.00. I asked why such a big increase they told me no discount this year. I have never asked for a discount or knew I got a discount. No difference in number of forms filed (federal, state and city) or time spent by me or them. No justification for a 40% increase.

Get a price quote before they prepare your tax returns. This was the fifth year using Liberty Tax and they ripped us off. Previous charges as follows: 2018 paid $250.00. 2019 paid $250.00. 2020 paid $255.00. 2021 paid $281.00. 2022 (this year's returns) charged $395.00. Discussed with ****** at Liberty Tax and he was rude, unhelpful and stated he would not make any adjustments. Liberty has prepared our federal, state and city returns all of these years with no changes in our deductions or time spent completing these returns. I come prepared with all income (W-2s) itemized deductions / receipts / mileage ... etc. totaled and ready to plug into the appropriate box. Total time spent in their office 60 to 75 minutes (every year). No logical reason for a $114.00 (40%) increase to their charges. Beware of being over-charged!

Had them do my taxes again this year like last ten years this year a new rep did my form’s on march 23rd Received notice from irs that someone was trying to turn in a fake return when I called irs they told me that my real return never got filed had to get a copy and mail it to them. Finely got my refund on 10-11-22 still waiting for state refund so I called state and found out that they never received my form so now I have to deal with that again All of this was bad enough but liberty also charged me 272 dollars when I only payed 100 dollars all previous years

I went to Liberty in February. I had to go back because, my City taxes were not done. Theresa the preparer said that you have to ask for that to be done ahead of time. I had never heard of this. Then, I found out that I was not getting my full amount back. That I usually get back. A difference of $2,000.00. I then, got a letter from the IRS saying my taxes were not done right. And they sent me the 2,000 less money. I told Theresa that there was a mistake and gave her the letter. She did not see an issue and would not amend my taxes. I left there mad and disappointed. I had accordingly to the IRS letter to dispute ths refund amount until May 15th. I went today to Akron Income Tax. And Ronald amended them for me. There were several mistakes. And she didn't do an EIC Dependent amendment amount on my disabled sister. Causing me to have to pay for an amendment to Akron Income Tax. So, I paid to have my taxes done twice. And guess what? I get my $2,000.00. Thank you, Ronald from Akron Income Tax. You did what Theresa should have done. She already had my money.

We have filed with Liberty Tax for years. But for this year our tax preparer, Theresa R was extremely disorganized and careless. At our first appointment, she made us come back in a week so she would have time to do our taxes (married filing jointly). Then when we came back, she couldn't find our tax paperwork. She had to search for it. Once she found our paperwork it took about an hour for her to complete everything. Then we had to come back for the city income tax. That took another week. When I called the day she said the paperwork should be ready, she told me to come in the next day to pick up the city. When I came the next day, she couldn't find it. Then my husband came to pick up our city tax paperwork the next day. He had to watch her locate our paperwork for about ten minutes. (Yes, she had customers and was obviously overwhelmed--but still.) When my husband got the city tax paperwork, he said she muttered something about not being able to finish it because there were not enough lines and that there would just be an adjustment?! We didn't look at the signature section until two days later. That is when I realized she did not sign as the preparer for our city taxes. Had I not caught that, we would have sent it off without her required signature and tax preparer ID information.I understand she was probably overwhelmed since she was the only tax person in the office. (There used to be at least 2 or 3 tax preparers in the past.) But you have to be professional when people are paying you to prepare their tax information.I do not recommend this the tax preparer at this location. We're still crossing our fingers hoping there we no mistakes when she handled our information.
