If you’re the kind of person who likes authentic food from Tuscany this is pretty much a dream destination. The freshest and most authentic dishes can only really be found in the motherland, but Amalias dedicated culinary arts has to be tasted to be believed. Kick back with a bottle of Duoro wine from Portugal with plummy fruit and spice flavors, the good acidity and the occasionally rugged tannins are more than a little reminiscent of a port. A great suggestion from our waiter, Gaitino who is from Sardinia. His fascination of food and wine is very apparent. Have you ever walked out of a restaurant feeling perfectly content after a decadent meal, surrounded by the comforts of an Italian manor only to be surprised by the fact that you’re still in Wake Forest, North Carolina. We will definitely be back with our family.

The house is lovely up front and the main dishes were excellent. We were less impressed by the appetizer and dessert. The back of the house, where the restrooms are located, could use some attention to cleanliness and presentation. It felt like 2 different experiences from front to back. Overall though, I would definitely recommend it for the creative first and second courses and the very attentive staff.

I would have to say, the reviews does not match what this place is about. The food was not even good or aligned to what the pictures others showing here. Besides the waiter. The 3 course were two shareable meals with not even a sharable size at all. I do not even believe the cook did the food we had. Someone else did!! I felt that something was wrong with the service from the beginning. On our first place with was the Caprese salad. See picture enclosed. We have a risotto with scallops (3 little scallops and two spoons of risotto). Sadly, I didn’t take a picture of that risotto. The lamb I receive was overcooked, no taste and no other side but just two small lamb plain on an empty late. Others here showing a different cuisine from what we received. I ordered a steak instead, which I ended up taking home. To my surprise, once again the steak was overcooked. This is the worse restaurant I have ever been in the world. Trust me? I have been to a lot of places including Europe and this is NOT an European cuisine or close. I will not recommend to anyone.

Amalia‘s is a Wake Forest gem. It is superb fine dining, excellent service, and although a little pricey, what very good restaurant isn't. Want to enjoy a really nice meal in a quiet setting? Amalia's should be on your list.

We booked this reservation about 5 weeks in advance to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming. The food was delicious, very rich in flavor and well portioned. Although, food and drink were slightly overpriced we were willing to overlook it due to it being a special occasion. Our waiter, however, I regret even tipping him what I did, when I had the chance to think about it the next day. It’s not that Brian was inattentive, but he wasn’t a match to the ambiance of what we were expecting. It was my birthday… he smiled when my husband told him and at the end of the meal, we ordered dessert and he sent a runner to our table with a candle in the dessert. No one in the restaurant, not one staff member, wished me a happy birthday, or acknowledged the candle in the dessert. This dinner was a special occasion for us and unfortunately, this restaurant did not realize that this was going to be a dining experience for us. For the cost of the meal, it should have been more recognizable as such. I think the staff missed this mark and we do not plan to celebrate here again.

We tried Amalia’s last night and it was fantastic. From the moment we walked in, everyone was extremely nice and the service was really fast. Our waiter, Brain, was really helpful when we were deciding what to order. All of the food was incredible—I haven’t had food like this since I left Italy! I would definitely recommend coming here.

Amalia's is high end Italian, period. The dishes are well executed and packed with flavor. The menu is designed to give you 3 fabulous courses of food. Plan to be there for 90+ minutes, each course is made to order and worth the wait.

Waiter was knowledgeable but assumed we knew nothing about itailian food. We had to ask for drinks. And he kept pushing the most expensive wines and entrees. Doubt we will go back.

We enjoyed our first dining at Amalia's. We will be back for sure. Service was great and food was excellent. We didn't think the cocktails were up to par with the wine but overall a great meal.

We were visiting from New York with family who live in Raleigh and they chose to treat us to Amalia’s for dinner! Amalia’s is the quintessential Italian restaurant that has made food their vocation to be enjoyed by everyone who is graced by eating in such a delightful atmosphere. Upon entering Amalia’s, we were greeted warmly by our hostess and our journey continued under the care of our server, Logan who paid attention to every detail ensuring that our experience was memorable. He was personable and courteous at all times. We also need to make mention about the chef’s hand in our Italian meals-from the beginning of their authentic preparation to their lovely presentations which showed dedication throughout all of the delicious courses and desserts. We highly recommend Amalia’s Italian Restaurant! Accolades to the owner who represents leadership in managing such a fine establishment! We especially appreciated the delicate wine selection from the owner’s personal vineyard in Italy! It completed the fine dining ambiance at Amalia’s! We love Amalia’s!

It was our first visit to Amalia's and won't be the last. The restaurant being in an old house allows for intimate dining areas. Our waiter Logan was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. All courses and food was outstanding!

I hope you're hungry, because Amalias Restaurant wants to feed you up good. So nourishing and potent is it's essence,This elegant Italian restaurant brings out true hearty dishes, proper authentic cuisine. As you'd expect, Incredible pasta dishes at this place appear to be sacrosanct. I can imagine the chef showing off his masterpieces from appetizers to dessert. The Veal Chop Bolognese is sick, not going to lie. The preponderance of sick just mean one thing: Italian fine dining at it's best. The nights show-stopper unctuous seafood linguine scampi and the risotto with scallops, both boasting a depth of flavour that bottomed out somewhere in the planets core. Every dish a mouthful of new experience. An Italian from Sardinia landed in Wake Forest and is a GURU with every suggestion and a depth of knowledge from all his wines with intricate detail of his service. If, like me, you spend time observing him -flawless.There's no point complaining about the prices when your'e dining as if in Italy! Great experience.

Had an amazing meal with great friends last night. Service was best in Raleigh area that I have had in 23 years of living here. Pricing is a bit strong. BUT you truly get what you pay for in this case. Not an everyday place for us. Special event. Worth every penny.

Amazing food, great service. It’s probably the best place for dinning and have a great time in the Triangle area.
