We no longer live in PBO but I still always my pup with Toni, Paula and the gang at Pettsboro. Grooming and daycare are fantastic too… don’t know what Spike and I would do without them!

With Pettsboro, when we go on vacation our doggies get to experience a stay-cation of their own. They have so much fun they’d almost prefer to stay at the end of their visits than to come home with us! Pettsboro takes great care of our pets and we can relax even more on our trip knowing they’re in good hands. Thanks for loving our furr babies!

This is a great find. They have done a great job with our 2 dogs (boxer and French Bulldog). Our boxer gets so excited egged he's dropped off. They have a separate area for the small dogs vs the bigger dogs. The owners are personable and seem to truly enjoy working with out fur babies.

The service here is what makes this place the best. All the employees are very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about dog behavior and well-being. I like how they screen every dog (both with questions and by introducing new dogs to your dog to see social reactions) before agreeing to doggy daycare/board to make sure its a good fit for everyone. They serve wholesome meals (breakfast for daycare, and 2-3 meals for boarding) and provide loads of outdoor time. My pups always come home tired and happy. The owner also gives tours of the entire property before you sign up, which is a level of transparency many other boarding places lack. Great place run by trustworthy people.

It's a bit of a funny farm, but all the animals survived the weekend and slept for days. We will go back.

Great grooming. Even, no missed spots, perfect cut for two "farm standard poodles". Only drawback is not being able to get in on a 6-8wk rotation. Called after my appointment to reschedule but the earliest they could get me in was 13 weeks out

I never leave reviews but have to do it this time- I have taken my dog here twice. The first time was an okay experience. It’s very crowded and not well kept. The lady who greeted me was nice. The groomer not so much. The groom itself was decent. My dog seemed a bit scared when I picked her up. Second experience- they called me the morning of my long awaited appointment on Thursday to cancel and reschedule. She wanted me to reschedule for the next day ( a Friday on a holiday weekend) or if I couldn’t do that it would be another month out. So I told her (nicely) sure I can make that work if I could possibly pick my dog up by 1 as we were going out of town. The lady in the phone conferred with the groomer in the background who sounded disgruntled but she returned and said that would be fine. Took my dog the next day at 830am as instructed-she seemed like she did not want to go in AT ALL (she is a generally skiddish dog but never that bad once she’s warmed to people/place). I left to run errands and pick my children up, I was not expecting to pick the dog up until 12/1 as discussed the day before. They called me at 1030 and said she was ready. I was a bit surprised and told her there was no way I could come right then it would be close to 12. The lady on the phone said hold on, spoke to groomer- who YELLED in the background “well she was in such a hurry yesterday to get her she needs to come now”! I never once used an ill manner or an urgency when saying I needed to pick her up by 1, I simply asked. If they had said no I would have just taken another appointment time. So I nicely told her I would be there as soon as so could and she replied with something along the lines of “yea you need to come now”. I hurried over and when I picked my dog up I was shocked. She’s a long hair dog who I asked for them to trim her tail and ears and they shaved her completely and cut her tail hair all the way to the bone itself. She seemed genuinely terrified and shook all the way home. She then proceeded to have (what the vet called) “stress diarrhea” for five days! The vet also inquired if the groomer could have given her something without asking me. That I can’t answer. But I will not be returning to this place.

Been sending out anxiety stricken dog since she was a puppy while living in Pittsboro. After we moved to Durham, this is the only place for our dog. This is one place she feels like it's her second home and she loves the staff there. Any mention of the names of Pettsboro staff, her ears perk up and tail starts wagging.

Unfortunately I have to give it a star but this place doesn't deserve one. It is absolutely horrible. I have personally witnessed the owner Toni yell and scream and cuss the dogs. She calls them names. She is very negative towards them. When she is grooming the dogs she is very rough and aggressive. Please DO NOT send your pet here.

My dog LOVES Pettsboro! A very loving and attentive staff. When I first moved to the area a friend recommended Pettsboro. Our rescue dog was afraid of crates so we gave him a lot of freedom at home. Pettsboro is the perfect place for him. They give him the freedom to find his comfy spot and he's not stuck in a small space for hours. The animals have fun playing and find their place to relax. Pettsboro is great at making the right fit for dogs by temperament, age and size. It's truly a special place and I know he enjoys seeing friends each time he goes there. They are experts at what they do. I don't worry about our dog when traveling.

Wonderful, caring doggie-community environment! The owner and team take the time to get to know your fur-baby, ensuring their comfort, safety, well being, and your peace of mind. Strongly recommend! Paws up for a 5-Woof rating!
