“This was our third custom furniture order and the second with Rachel’s guidance. Her expertise is unmatched, her patience extra ordinary. We couldn’t be more pleased with the exceptional quality of the American-built furniture, the timeliness of the delivery and the care exhibited by the delivery team. We recommend Foothills Amish Furniture without reservation.”
“If your looking for unique or reasonably priced items, this is your place. Staff I wonderful and the store is beautiful. I recently remodeled my bedroom and was looking for something almost exactly like this. Landrum has all kinds of stores but this one is the best by far.”
“Reply to Jesse Proctors post. All our slabs are air dried and at different moisture levels in the drying stage. We always inform customers of the moisture content and always try to sell slabs at 14% or less for immediate building use. Some people choose to buy slabs with higher moisture content to take to kiln or store for air drying themselves. We never seal slabs both sides on our builds to allow for breathing. If customers choose to air dry themselves we have no control of the conditions in which they are stored. Jesse we are very sorry that your slab cracked and warped. We would be more than willing to replace it for you at no charge if you desire. At Burls of Character we strive for QUALITY and ALWAYS want the customer to be satisfied. We built 2 dining tables out of these same slabs and had no problems at all with them, as I previously said we have no control of how someone stores the wood or processes it for a build. As I recall I recieved a message from these girls showing photo of the table they had built with the slab and later said that it had mold coming up under the finish and asked what they could do. I at that time asked if they had sealed the under side of the table and they stated that they had. I informed them that this is what caused the mold because the wood could not breath. They never mentioned anything about warping or cracking. I informed them that the only way to handle the problem was to completely sand down the table and refinish it without sealing the underside. I heard nothing else from them. This sale was at least 6 years ago as I have been in my new location for 5 years and this slab was purchased at my old location. It seems unwarranted to post a review 6 years after the fact when I was not contacted about this.”
