I'd like to give a thsnks to the team in Matthews and especially, Caleb for the great service and compassion given to me and the lady i brought into their store yesterday who was having an extremely rough day topped off by a ruptured rear truck tire that disabled her truck in front of my home. You guys were absolutely amazing to us! You quickly assessed and got the right tire and showed alot of empathy to her. She was most grateful! It was a very positive experience and i will definitely be making your store my preferred tire store and recommending the same to all those i know. Well done!

I've been going to Discount Tire in Matthews for almost 20 years. I use to go when they were on Sardis Road North, then they moved closer to me on Independence near Chic-a-fil. Let me start off by saying Anthony (i think his last name begins with an F) is phenomenal! I met him when the store was on Sardis Road North, he knew my car, we talked about racing and cars, he was GREAT! Recently, i had a not so great experience at Discount Matthews. I brought my car in on September 28, 2024 for a
bulge in the tire on the side wall. I got the insurance so it was replaced for free. Anthony took care of me. On October 20, 2024, there was another bulge in the tire, less than a month. Now, I race my car, drive hard. The first bulge was more than likely due because I allowed my son to drive and he probably hit a curb, however, I was in the car and do not remember him doing so. Less than month later, the same bulge happened. I am VERY FAMILIAR with cars, how they run/work. I am not your average woman who does NOT know about car parts. I've built a car out of nothing with my uncles and I do MY OWN work on my car and my children's car. When I brought the car in the second time, I was pissed, as it was less than a month and I had the same bulge. I spoke to Danny, who is NEW to discount tire Matthews, he came from Albemarle Road, I confirmed this with some of the other employees there. I do not remember the person I was speaking to, but I explained my irritatation on my tire bulging again and how it's frustrating that I have to pay ANOTHER $100 to fix it when I was JUST there less than a month ago for the same problem. The young man explained it's Discount Tire policy and that there is nothing they can do. I told him I understand, but I am pissed! He told his manager Danny. I do not remember his last name, he had glasses and red hair. I already explained to the previous guy I'll pay it, so payment was not the issue. When Danny entered the convo, instead of apologizing for my irritation and giving me EXCELLENT customer service, he provided me an excuse that the tire would not be from the same batch because they are months apart and a bulge would not be a manufacturers defect as they were from a different batch! He insisted that I must have ran over something to cause the bulge to occur, however there were no signs of tire or wheel/rim damage near the bulge. Last time I checked, Danny worked for Discount Tire and not Michelin tire. So I paid the $100, saw Anthony on my way out and told him I'm done with Matthews and let him know why! Anthony did EXACTLY what someone that understands STELLAR customer service and said, i am so sorry, I hate to see a long time customer leave, but I understand. Being the woman I am, I love cars, love racing and working on them, i called Michelin and explained the situation and what Danny at Discount told me and the Michelin customer service rep, apologized for my interaction with Danny (something he never did) and told me his rationale was incorrect. The rep put me on hold and confirmed with their manager they have NEVER heard about a batch excuse and that some tires could be faulty. Fast forward, I went to Albemarle Discount and got my front tires changed, an AWESOME experience!!!! That location EXUDES customer service. As a paying customer that gets her tires changed often, all I wanted was the manger (Danny) to do, was acknowledge my irritation nd apologize for my experience/issue. I was NOT trying to get anything for free! I work for the government in a different type of customer service, it's very Important to acknowledge your customers concerns and be able to speak with them honestly and not give a BS response. While I absolutely LOVE Anthony (I think his last name begins with an F), I will no longer go to Discount Matthews. The customer is not necessarily always right, but as a leader in an organization/business we should not give responses just to give responses and acknowledge the customers feelings, which Danny never did! You can trust this tire store. I stopped in today because I had a slow leak in my tire. They fixed it without charge. They offered me great advice and didn't try to upsell me on anything. True professionals! I'll be back when I need to purchase new tires.

I went to have the air checked in my tires. The service I received was excellent! I’m not sure of his name, however one can tell he takes pride and is knowledgeable in his field. I will definitely go back here if I’m in the area. I was traveling and don’t live in the area. Thanks Discount Tire.

Very expensive , I just got a new car and unfortunately I went over a pot hole and I blow a tire.
I went to discount tire and they wanted me to replace all 4 tires considering my car is 2024 and a few months old . There were asking 425 per tire.
I went to Walmart and I paid 135.00 .

Be cautious: if it feels like a scam, it probably is. I visited this place twice, lured by their 'free flat tire repair' offer. The first time, they claimed I had four hail damage spots and couldn't fix it (three would've been okay, but four was a deal-breaker). I ended up spending $200 on a new tire. The second time, they said my tire was burnt and couldn't be repaired, again costing me $200 for a replacement. This reeks of misleading advertising to get customers in the door and take their money. Lesson learned: never again.

I could give this place a 0 if I could. We got 4 new tires and then a few months later we had a nail in a tire that was beyond repair. I was surprised that it was not covered by their warranty but I decided to go ahead and take their recommendation and buy 2 new tires and place them in the front. Dispose one tire that was not bad to avoid the car being unbalanced with a new tire and an old tire in the back.
5,000 miles later, we return to get a tire rotation and they show how uneven worn out all my tires are and it is only now that they tell me that they don’t align tires after changing tires. That is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I feel that we have been taken for a ride here!! I expected professionals to know that tires need to be aligned if you change tires. And if they did not offer that service, they should have warned me from the beginning and gave me an opportunity to take my car for alignment elsewhere. I will never use this place for any service again.

I am a very frequent customer and 95% of my visits to this location have been perfect. My last visit was subpar because of some miscommunication, but they have gone out of the way to rectify the issue. Everyone makes mistakes on occasion and these guys owned up and went the extra mile to make my experience a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend them as a more than solid choice for your tire needs.
