Had a staff person suggest this morning that my daughter and I should take our masks off and live our lives in a very passive aggressive way. So, I suggested to my wife that she not buy the dress she was going to. I love how free everyone is with their opinions these days.

My sister and I love this shop! I bought 3 items and I am very pleased with my purchases. We will definitely return when we return to OBX! And they carry Flax and Cut Loose (can't find these brands in RVA anymore)!

Was dissappointed this go round. The staff was a bit curt, and in awe when I came to ask for a refund because a gift did not fit. It literally was tried on by a little girl for 15 seconds. There also used to be a good assortment of men's wear, but no longer. In 2022, get boutique charm, but return policies should be a standard accounting practice.

So sorry, Carolyn. I hope things are better now. It is such a sweet place I have always loved - Duck and Barree Station. After reading your response, I now understand it must have been a very stressful season - understaffed and overworked. Your frustration with me makes total sense now. I am so sorry for trying on so many suits and not hanging them back up. Blessings your way and total apologies from me;)

Been coming here for over 15 years. I bought a few special dresses here including my wedding rehearsal dinner dress. I've found some cool pieces and even swimwear I haven't seen anywhere else.

Well I'm not sure what happened to poor Charlotte, but Barr-ee Station is staffed by absolutely fantastic people. Is Charlotte the person who left 25 bathing suits littered all over the floor after trying them on and then tossing them for some poor busy employee to rematch and rehang? Certainly she wasn't that rude person! These are times when all businesses are understaffed and overwhelmed with rude and entitled people. Lets all hope for a more gentle and kinder 2022 season, cause the people coming this year are less than the cream of the crop. And Charlotte, if you are the person who was in there when I was, and made such a negative impression on everyone, you got your money back on a non-refundable item, so shame on you for trashing a local business.

This is for the Waterfront location. Pretty, if pricey, designs. The customer "service" was positively frosty though. A staffer with a silver bob followed me through the store but never said anything to me - not "let me know if I can help you" or "we're having a 20% sale!" (I knew about the sale because she told every single person who came in while I was there - except for me.) She didn't offer me a fitting room and when I was done, she immediately went in and grabbed the two items I had tried on but never asked "how did those fit?" (I hung both items back up neatly so it's not that i made a mess.) I didn't buy anything. In contrast, I got a lovely greeting at Donna Designs (and bought earrings), and struck up conversations with the staff at Outer Barks (bought a harness for my dog, and a T-shirt), as well as at Amity and Allie June (did not buy anything, but took their business card). I think I looked as well-dressed as the other customers at Barr-ee so maybe the staffer disliked my hat? My linen slacks? Too bad. I might've bought something but will not plan to be back. Have never before felt this level of suspicion in 20 years of coming to OBX. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Love this store normally but was overwhelmed today that despite requiring masks the number of people in the store was ridiculous. Avoid this place during the pandemic. Mask or not too many people in the store.
