Tiah has a bad attitude. If good costumer service isn't something you like giving maybe you should find another form of employment!

Overcharging is all they are interested in doing. Do yourself a favor and pick another veterinarian.

I am very impressed with this office and how they care and take their time with their patients. I had a horrible experience at Cabarrus Animal Hospital and I was so nervous to come here after they left me without care due to me questioning them. I am so relieved by the care receivers and I know we have a great plan that is in everyone best interest. I am very impressed and I look forward to every visit with them.

Dr. Jones is amazing and knows her stuff. Front desk staff were very polite, kind and educated on customer service (which seems rare nowadays). They were able to squeeze us in quickly and even though it seemed they were incredibly busy- they were very thorough throughout and listened to me and my dog. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Jones and this office. A bit challenging with parking but I know that's not their fault and they helped me find a space. (That dry cleaner next door must think they own that parking lot or something ) Thanks y'all!

WE now have THREE cats. I would not take any of my animals anywhere but Poplar. They helped me through the whole "found these strays" process--deworming, deflea-ing ., etc. etc. Dr. Justis is so caring, so full of knowledge. I felt encouraged and capable of handling the first " heat" that came on before their spay/neuter appt. I know these two new kittens will be as well cared for as our first cat, as our dogs were before we became cat folk. Find Poplar. Use Poplar. They're wonderful.

We have tried to give this place a chance many times. They have terrible customer service. You call, get voicemail leave messages & they don't return calls. Also have emailed them & nothing. They don't like it when you just pop in but what are we supposed to do when they do not havd an actual person answering phones. I was warned about this place & now i understand why, unless you know someone personally at this place u get crappy service. I'm not trusting them with our boy anymore.

Very dissatisfied with their emergency policy. I have all three of my dogs with this clinic. My oldest dog was not feeling herself I followed the policy within working hours of trying to bring my dog in for an exam. On the way they called me and said she probably needs more than they could offer so they sent me to an emergency clinic. They did not even know what my dog was experiencing or feeling. They just called and changed me en route. The emergency clinic charged me at least double and all to find out she was just having an old lady day. Completely fine. I feel very brushed over and dismissed. Not happy and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Poplar animal hospital under the leadership of Dr Amat is top notch. Since they have opened I have had five dogs under their care. The team is knowledgeable from check in to the care received. I truly appreciate his communication abilities and love of animals. The furry patients can feel it. Dr Amat is an excellent surgeon. Thanks for being so good to my pups.

July2021. Dr Amat thank you and the staff for the care you provided us again! This office has an amazing staff of folks who care about your pets. May 2021- another great experience with Dr Justis and Dr Amat. Thank you for the wonderful care you provide for allllllll (multi pet family) our pets! Updating this review 2021. Dr Munn was wonderful at our last appointment. Offered suggestions and provided information in a easy going manner. I appreciate the time he spent discussing the reason for our visit. Really, these Doctors care about our animals. Thank you to the Doctors and staff of Poplar! Dr Justice is the best. Our dogs have been seeing her for more years than I can remember. We started seeing her in Concord, then followed her to Charlotte then back to Concord when she joined Poplar Animal. She is the reason our animals go here. Dr Amat and Dr Stroud, and Dr Munn are the other Vets we have seen with positive experiences at this practice. They listened to concerns and do a good job of discussing procedures and options for care. Dr Justice listens to concerns, her follow up phone calls are never rushed. She even emailed us with follow up suggestions about new puppy concerns we are having with our other dogs. We also don't want every vaccine pushed on our dogs as a normal course of an appointment. She understands our concerns about over vaccination, and supports us in using titer testing when possible. I can not say enough good things about her, and appreciate everything she had done for our family over these many years. If I could change one thing about this practice it would be for there to be additional options for treatment..... To become a more holistic practice and discuss titer options etc... as a normal part of practice.

Can I give ZERO stars?? We've been going to this vet for about 20 years. They've been okay since we started going. (Not great, just ok). Back in February of this year, our beloved cat, Billy, was blocked and unable to urinate. After several visits here, as well as the ER vet, we decided that surgery was necessary for Billy. Dr. Amat did the surgery. We're 3 weeks post op now, and have spent close to $5k. After the surgery, every time we had to bring Billy in, there was a charge. I'm really shocked they didn't charge us for the "air" Billy breathed. Every time I've had to call their office, 99.9% of the time, we get voicemail. Yesterday was his last visit, and once again, we were charged. Mind you, we were told that everything was included in the surgery price. I advised one of the gals that I was unhappy with the excessive charges and constant inability to reach someone on the phone. I received a call back from "Shannon", I assume the office manager. I cannot tell you how utterly RUDE she was! We've been coming to this office for 20 years!! Never have I been spoken to in such a way! After telling her of what I considered "excessive" charges, she asked me in a horribly nasty tone, "when you go to the doctor, do you have to pay for any after visits?" At that point, I knew I was done. Please, please don't visit this office. Our pets are our life! And don't you want kind, caring and respectful people taking care of your loved ones?

I love this vets office. All the drs and techs genuinely care about animals. They take the time to thoroughly examine your pet. All my dogs have severe vet anxiety and they treat them so gently. Every vet at this animal hospital is great! Dr. Justis is the best!

My family and I have had many animals throughout the years and, after trying several other establishments in the Charlotte area, came to Poplar after a recommendation. They provide absolutely wonderful service and give their all to make sure they give the best care to pets, and treat them as members of the family. Dr. Munn and Dr. Amat are the primary practitioners I have dealt with, but all the staff is just as wonderful.

My dog has been coming to Poplar Animal Hospital since he was born...about 3 years. The staff is friendly and helpful. All the vets are great with my dog. We typically don't have to wait to be seen. I took him because he was keeping his eye closed for about a day. I was worried he had something in there that I could not see. The vet put some drops in his eyes but so when the lights were out and a special light was turned on it would show them if something was in there. All good. When I was there I did ask that she check his ear. At one point she attempted to but he moved so she said she would go back to it. She never did. That was disappointing. I was given antibiotic drops in case there was something in there. $120.00 later I left. I believe that was a high charge for what was done/not done. Prior to my entry to the exam room I heard the girls at the desk trying to decide how best charge another customer. It felt like they were trying to maximize the charge which is frustrating as a consumer. I would think charges would be set. Regardless these things should not be discussed in the presence of customers. I still give them 4 stars because they are very good with my dog, they don't keep you waiting and they are close to my home.

I was able to get in the same day that I called! The staff was friendly and very nice! The place is very clean! No bad smell or anything! I was also greeted by one of the Vets since the front desk staff was on the phone! The Vet and the Vet Tech were awesome! He answered all of my questions and gave me good advice for raising my kitten! This is the second animal I have taken to them! My kitty will always go here!

Update: Soon after posting this, I was contacted to apologize for some confusion but also explain the office's reasons for no longer approving online (non-vetted) pharmacies- this sounded mostly like Chewy and 800-petmeds. I was told many people don't have good experiences with these companies and they also don't know what types of quality control they have. I said I had used these companies for more than 12 years and never had a problem. I also only have bought flea/tick control and heart worm prevention from them. All in all, I was fine with receiving a paper prescription to mail to the company of my choice. Now, a few months later, they have a waiver patient parents can sign. I'm happy they listened to their clientele. (Not just me, apparently )
