Personal shopping is easier and more fun at The Poole Shop! Grace and Claire are always willing to assist and give feedback. I appreciate the fact that budget or taste doesn't matter.

As a personal shopper, I visit Capitol and Poole Shop almost daily. I can always find the perfect things for my clients (or myself) and each experience is warm and inviting. The team of women Laura Vinroot Poole has assembled is truly the best. If you are visiting Charlotte or live locally and haven't stopped in yet- GO!!

Tucked away above Capitol, you'll find this cute little resort wear boutique. Poole shop has introduced me to a new bevy of contemporary and ready to wear designer brands that I wasn't familiar with, but am so happy to have found. The staff are always friendly and eager to please. They've gone over and beyond to help me find items in my size and style. In all my years of shopping here, I've only had to return one problematic piece of jewelry and the staff were more than gracious in doing so.

This place get a No star from me. Remind me to never take myself, time and money to a prejudice Store ever again. I walked in to look for a really nice dress for my birthday dinner not really caring about the price and the moment I walked in the looks I received may be walk my butt right back out.

Found Poole Shop about two years ago and became a fan for life. They have beautiful, unique merchandise and I get stopped by strangers every time I wear their clothes. The team is thoughtful and attentive and have gone out of their way with special orders and keeping me in mind for things I might enjoy. Best place to shop in CLT.

One visit to this colorful, beautiful store and you will be hooked for life! The friendly, talented stylists make me feel so welcome while I browse the best pieces from favorite designers from around the world...many exclusive to this store because of the great relationships the amazing buyers have with designers. Even designers love to shop here! The staff helps me find my best look and happily coordinates new pieces with other favorites already in my wardrobe to keep me updated and comfortable. I can always count on compliments if it comes from The Poole Shop!

Went to return a defective skirt that has never been worn, and had a rip on the side. The manager said she wouldn't take it back because it had been more than a week that it was purchased and it's not their policy to accept merchandise after a week, even though it's defective and a tailor said it could not be repaired. Most businesses thrive on customer service and to make sure that their customer is happy. NOT THIS PLACE. I do not recommend shopping here and I would spend my money elsewhere. The attitude of the store manager was dispassionate at best.

Visited Poole for the first time today and thought it would be very intimidating. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. Poole has already become my favorite boutique in Charlotte. Colorful, unique, and luxurious ready-to-wear fashion coupled with a friendly and hard working staff. Such a welcoming atmosphere and unique selection of apparel is bound to impress.

Last year, Poole Shop relocated just above its "big sister store", Capitol. They also had some staff changes, and in the spirit of transparency, I have to admit that one of my friends is now a manager/buyer. But honestly, she's one of the most stylish people I've ever met and she's really transformed the store. Currently, they are focusing on bringing in lines that are thoughtful, unique and socially responsible. Here are two of my favs: 1) ORGANIC by John Patrick- You'll see his pieces in the NY Times Style Magazine, Bazaar, and Vogue. True to the name, the pieces are made of earth-friendly, recycled and/or organic materials...all with excellent craftsmanship. 2) Symmetry by Ted Byrnes and Gena Tuso- Focusing on scarves, each is cut and sewn in LA. Poole shop spent six months collaborating on an exclusive capsule collection for pre-fall 2011! (Fall fabrics are either American-made Woolrich wools, Japanese artisanal wools and/or organically produced.) 3) LemLem - Ethiopian hand-woven cotton clothing. It doesn't get any better than LemLem in the spring and summer. I also love the cult favorite, Isabel Marant & Etoile. Look out for jewelry by Melvin, Aurélie Bidermann and Lizzie Fortunado. If for nothing else, come in and see their art-displays and two-story vertical garden by French landscape architect Patrick Blanc.

The Poole Shop drew me in from the outside by their bold and funky window display, which was nice to see amongst several very expensive and more conservative stores. They do have a nice selection and, while still pricey, you can find great jeans here. The staff didn't even say hello though, and I found them to be a bit snotty. Other than that, it's worth a go.

For casual ware this place is second to none. They have a wide variety of comfy stuff and cute dresses. But the real draw is the jeans, there is a bunch of stuff to choose from in this department. The only down side is that it is kind of a small store so the selection isn't the biggest, but they do have an awesome fish tank.

This is probably the best place in Charlotte to shop for jeans. The best thing about the Poole Shop is that even though it seems like it could one of typical snobby stores where everything is ridiculously expensive and the sales staff is rude, it totally isn't. They do have ridiculously expensive jeans (pretty much any brand or style you could want) but they also sell some really affordable brands so you can get a pair for under $100. The sales staff here is helpful, but they will tell you that you look great in everything you try on (even if maybe you don't).
