Had my transmission replaced and they forgot to hook up my vacuum hoses but "suggested" I check them when I said the car wouldn't run. Overall that's the only complaint. Car is back on the road and transmission I bought for them to install is working. As far as price they were the cheapest around hands down, I would recommend this shop for anyone who has their own transmission to put in like I did. 1,000 for installation isn't bad, he did want 4,000 to rebuild tho. Other shop wanted almost 2,000 just to install, overall not a bad experience

Paid to have my transmission rebuilt and I didn't even get to drive a month before it started messing up and now no reverse. I was told I had to pay for the repair when it should have been under warranty from their rebuild

After a huge miscommunication, the owner worked with us and gave us a pretty good discount. He also fixed a bunch of things we didn’t even know were wrong. I would recommend this place.

We were quoted a price of $1500-$1800 for a rebuild. They had the truck for 3 months. In that time they put the wrong part on twice, and had to fix their mistakes, and get the correct parts and fix some damage they created. When the truck was finally allegedly ready they jacked the price up to $4200. Then hit us with a $50/day storage fee and now are trying to put a mechanics lien against our truck so they can take it for themselves. Nothing short of false advertisement, and an attempt to legally steal the truck out from under us. 10/10 dont recommend. You leave here with more problems than you came with.

Took my truck to them for a complete fluid and filter change in my transmission.changed me 280 dollars. Took truck home and crawled under truck to check their work. Pan had not been removed from trans which is necessary to get to the filter. Also checked fluid in trans. Still had dirty fluid in it. Called owner and he denied it and rudely refused to refund .my 280 dollars claiming he had proof it has been done. Now I have to take it else where to get it doneBEWARE. BEWARE. Please don't waste your money on these low life crooks.

Had transmission rebuilt and it dosent even work right makes my car stall at red lights or when I stop.they say there nothing wrong with it ..well there is.

They said that they replaced my brakes and rotors but 6 months later, they needed replaced again. They also claimed that I needed new calipers but luckily I had a co-worker who was a retired mechanic. He told me that I did not need calipers and did it for 1/4 of the price Black Bear quoted me.Service: Auto brake replacement

Had our transmission rebuilt on our Envoy XL a few years ago here at Black Bear. The first day after I picked it up I had to have it towed back to them because it messed up AGAIN after they "rebuilt" the transmission. They paid the tow fee and said that some hose disconnected and said they fixed it. All seemed well with it for a while but here we are right after the warranty expired with less than 20k on the rebuilt transmission and the transmission is going yet again. They also replaced a battery and charged us for it without even saying anything which was trivial at the time but now om seeing they have made a habit out of this. Take your money elsewhere for transmission service. It's not worth saving a few hundred initially only to have to have your transmission rebuilt yet again a few years later.Service: Transmission

This place is not honest or helpful. I took my Chevy Cruz here to get a oil leak from my valve gasket fixed and replaced. The mechanic told me it was my turbo, I said that I need a second opinion and wanted to get my vehicle that day. They made me pay a diagnostic fee cuz they love to line their pockets with scamming customers money.Service: Engine repair
