I've been with Woodforest for almost 15 years. Told friends and family about this bank and the wonderful service they offer. But absolutely NOT THIS BRANCH. I was told I could NOT deposit a check into my business account as it was written out to me personally. Then, I was told I could not cash the check and put the cash into my business account. WTH???. The business account is set up as partnership...both "partners" were there, both with our ID on hand. WE ALSO HAVE PERSONAL ACCOUNTS too. Called Texas head quarters twice.... finally got a call back from this branch manager saying THEY we're in the right and would not deposit my check...but would have a follow up call from assistant to apologize and explain again why not. Never received a call back.I drove to Aberdeen branch....they not only deposited my check ..they THANKED ME for doing business with them....and warned me to STAY AWAY FROM ASHEBORO BRANCH....

I can’t express enough how amazing it is when I go to the Asheboro Woodforest Bank ... David Welch and Meredith are always so friendly and professional. Always the best service and they really care about people. I could go on and on about how wonderful they are ? I couldn’t see me banking anywhere else

Absolutely useless having an account at this bank. Stand in line for 30 mins only to be told they won't cash my check. Never in my life have I known a bank not to cash a check for someone who holds an account with that bank. Will be closing that account down ASAP and switching banks

Gosh I've been with them probably 10 years or more. I agree they do things that don't help, but that's all banks. But in some circumstances, like what I'm goin through now, they help as best they can. Hope it works out or I may do another post. Lol

I closed my account a year ago because I was tired of paying fees for everything. I forgot to update my direct deposit form and they reopened this account just so they could charge me more fees... not happy at all

The two lady's told a handicap gentalman that his name had to be on account of the check and when he said he wanted to document this the older one said to tell him there is no funds in account to get him to leave and I personally seen that the owner account is anything but empty! Foul n hate this bank

I dont bank at Woodforest but I was thinking of moving my accounts there. My banks nearest branch is now 35 miles away. Today I was in need of a notary and was told there was one at Woodforest in Walmart. There were three employees working at the bank, two at the counter and one at a desk. There was one customer at the counter. I waited for that customer to finish then moved to the counter. One of the tellers asked what I needed and I told her that I needed a bill of sale notarized. She said ok. Then she said I had to get in line. I looked around and said what line. She pointed to a lady standing on the other side of the bank at a table filling out some papers or something. Two tellers at the counter, one at a desk with one customer obviously not ready to move to the counter. Line? Finally the teller at the desk got up and started talking to the customer at the table. One of the other tellers ask what I wanted. I pulled two papers out of a large envelope. I put one back in the envelope and handed the other to the teller and told her I needed it notarized. She looked at it, looked at me and back at the bill of sale and said let me see the other paper in the envelope. I told her that paper had nothing to do with the bill of sale and she did not need to see it. She looked at me with her mouth wide open like I was some kind of monster out of creation. She looked at me, the bill of sale and me again several times. She never said one word about the bill of sale. If there was something wrong or not, Nothing. She just stood there with a weard look on her face. Finnaly I said , look if you dont want to do it just say so and I will go elsewhere. She said something about being trained and knows what shes doing??? What??? I have absolutely no idea what she was talking about. All I wanted was a bill of sale notarized. Apparently she has been trained in something, But I dont know what. Anyway I went up the road to another notary. Took about 90 seconds with no problems at all. If thats the best employees Woodforst can get I will stick with the 35 minute drive to my bank.

Is zero stars an option? Ive been paid at the same time on the same day every two weeks for years and i switched to this bank who says direct deposits dont work that way. It could take up to 3 days to clear from the time payroll is sent in.... maybe if this was the first direct deposit but its the second. The first went smooth as ever! But here i sit my second payday with this bank no deposit even pending yet according to them. And they act like this is normal. Automatic bill pay was invented because we all know exactly when we will get paid! According to this girl on the phone and her supervisor thats not the way the world works and no other bank can do that either. So tell me, do other people know what day youll get your check ? Then stick to that bank because here at woodforrest it could be on pay day ....or up to three days after.
