I was really upset, I reserved a room online and paid $25 for early check in. I called to be sure I can check in as early as 7:30am - the woman I spoke to said sure come right in I have plenty of rooms. When I arrived 30 minutes later I was greeted by a man. He said he’s not sure he has any room available (which I feel was a lie being that I had just spoke to someone 30 minutes prior and the hotel seemed rather empty, didn’t not look like there was no overflow of people coming in) he said he can rush a room for $50 extra. When I had already paid the early check in fee (Mind you the “rush” took 5 minutes or less, obviously the room was available). I had no other choice but to do so because I was having surgery in the next 10 minutes… however I highly feel like he charged me differently because of my appearance (minority). I felt extremely uncomfortable. I was supposed to get a discounted rate because I booked through Bella Mae and they told me they could not apply the discount as well. Not a good experience at all. One night costed me $312 for a standard room. The most basic room you can think of.

Be aware !!!!! Go over your credit card to see if they charge extra without warning you. They kept charging my card after I left. Definitely shady business.

The room was great however there’s a lot of remodeling going on on my floor. I wasn’t notified of this in advance and the hallway smelled like toxic chemicals. My room did too a little bit
When I asked the woman who checked me in upon arrival, “how is your day going?” her response was, “I’ll be doing better when I’m done for the day”
Probably not what you want your customers to hear. Otherwise she was very helpful and friendly
The woman working the desk in the evening gave me a phenomenal dinner recommendation, Freebird.
I found it curious that on a weekend morning, there was no complementary coffee available though there was some for purchase at a makeshift coffee stand on the lower level
The gym was the best part of my stay.

Chose Sonesta because it was slightly cheaper compared to other hotels in the area. Upon check-out I was hit by a $24/day "destination fee" that added $75 to my 3-day stay and made it more expensive than the rest. Last day before checking out, I saw cockroaches on the room’s sofa. Deceiving at best.

One of the better places to stay in this unique area! The dog-friendly hotel has a lot to offer from valet parking, bellhop services, breakfast, a Starbucks coffee area, and a bar. The staff is super accommodating and friendly. Patty at the front desk will go out of her way to assist and help guests. Highly recommend it and would stay again. ?
Nearby activities: Dicks sporting good and the mall

Good hotel if you have a car for free parking. But if you intend to travel to New York by public transport, you're in the wrong place. During the period there were renovation works and a real gym was missing.
Walkability: The station to go to New is very far away.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing staff! Highly recommended and highly recommend the bar and restaurant - the food is amazing and Yndira is the BEST bartender around!!!! The manager isn’t that bad either!

There is a permanent high pitched beeping that runs 24/7. You can hear it through the closed windows. It’s absolutely maddening.

Patty checked us in and helped us several times throughout are stay. The entire staff was excellent, but Patty was phenomenal and deserves special kudos. Only complaint was that the shower looked modern and nice, but was much less functional and poorly designed.

I gave this hotel a 2 because although the staff was friendly and it was located in a great location, the room was filthy. Cleaning-less for me is essential. It really looks like they wipe the counters with towels and call it a day.

I paid close to $500.00 for one of the WORST nights of sleep I EVER HAD!!! The bed was so LUMPY with a ripped sheet. The elevator had spilled soda in it (that was there the next day)! I paid $25.00 plus for a buffet breakfast that I had to serve myself with powdered eggs. Then the added charge for parking $20.00 (it’s for added security but there wasn’t a guard on duty). No luggage carts! So overpriced!!!! I wouldn’t even recommend this to a dog! (I would recommend country suites inn much better bed and the same FREE buffet breakfast that includes waffles and pancakes)

Formerly the Crown Plaza, there are renovations going on by Sonesta that look very nice.
Rooms: Just ok, beds are comfy, shower is decent. It’s a hotel room….meh.
Nearby activities: Mammaroneck Avenue is where all of the action is located. There is a Cheesecake Factory and a Whole Foods close by.
Safety: Plenty of lighting around the hotel, away from really busy streets.
Food and drinks: The breakfast is very good, nice buffet (after renovations are complete).
