Terrible after sale customer service. I had this company move my home furnishings to a storage space while doing a renovation. When time came to return the items back home, they did not have availability so I had to use another company. While the new movers were unpacking my furniture, they discovered that one of my dish cabinets which had glass doors was broken because it was poorly wrapped and protected. Once I contacted Despatch, they denied all responsibility and blamed the other movers and refused to accept that their poor packing was at fault. Adam the manager went as far as Insinuating I was lying that I saw how the piece was wrapped so that he wouldn't have to pay. If you use them, pray you don't need them to help you afterward.

The coordinator is very unprofessional. He rarely replied my email on time and threw a strong attitude when I raised the concern of late arrival of my stuffs. The coordinator asked me "what is your problem with the delivery date?" It sounds like they totally owned me since they already asked me to make the payment. They charged extra storage even though it was their problem to slip the loading date but still it showed on my final bill. The general manager jumped in after I complained about the coordinator's attitude but it didn't help a lot. All of my clothes and bedding stuffs had an awful smell from their warehouse and I sent an email to the manager complaining about it but he just ignored me.I am not sure if other customers have had similar bad experiences as I did. But I don't recommend this company to any other customer. If you need to find a mover, please just walk away from this company because their service really sucks.

Adam and Chris were amazing to work with setting up pick up and sending boxes to Chicago. They came highly recommended and I would highly recommend them. Despatch was very helpful and understanding during an unfortunate situation. Great!

I have used Despatch Moving & Storage three times over the past four years and each time they have been amazing. I cannot say enough about this company. The pricing, the service and the crews are terrific. They make moving easy!

I hired Despatch to move from Southampton to another county. The move required more than the one truck came on the day of the move - both the movers and I projected we would need one truck. Once the mover ran over to an additional truck and therefore an additional day, it all went bad. Despatch supplied 2 non movers - they were warehouse men not current professional movers - to come on day 2. They did this without telling me or asking for my consent. It took them 8.5 hours to load a SMALL truck. During this day 2 move, I heard on mover say "I'm not moving that it will hurt my back". By comparison, the professional team at another local mover that moved me to the SH area loaded 3 large trucks in 10 hours. As the day 2 move dragged on with the warehouse team, I touched base with the movers and said it was taking awhile. He asked me when they would be done; I said I have no idea. Isn't it the moving company's job to speak with its employees to estimate timing and get feedback?! By the end of the move my minor children were carrying things to the truck. Meanwhile, Dispatch wanted to unload the 1st truck from day 1 to my new location - on the same day his B team was loading the 2nd truck. In fact, they sent the 1st truck to my new house and had them WAIT there for 2.5 hours at a locked house - knowing I was in SH with his movers - and CHARGED ME FOR 2.5 HOURS OF WAITING TIME. In addition, they had a moving team for day 1 come from 2 hours away and CHARGE ME FOR DRIVING TIME - when my move originated 10 minutes from the Despatch office in SH. Next, the 2nd truck came 6 days after the 1st truck unloaded. I had no mattresses to sleep on so 6 people, including children, slept on the floor for 6 nights. When I called the office for help, there was no answer and response from Desptach. When I texted a manager, he said it was a busy weekend. When I said this was not an acceptable or professional way to conduct my move, Despatch suggested I pay them upfront and in full BEFORE the 2nd moving truck would arrive - thus holding my possessions ransom for payment. Finally, when the 2nd truck did come - 7 days after my move began - there was significant damage to my items. A few small things were also missing. When I asked about the damage to my furniture, he suggested I fill out a claim form and it would be covered by insurance and someone would be coming to assess the damage. In the end, after I paid them... as you may guess... I was given an email and told that because I made an issue about the over billing, that any reduction in bill I would receive was about what the insurance would have given me, so good luck and goodbye! So, I was overbilled: 1.) for driving time, 2.) waiting time at a locked house, 3.) had non professional moving team - without no communication from Despatch - who took more than double to load a small truck, 4.) damage to my furniture, 5.) 6 day delay between truck deliveries, 5.) lied to about they intentions to file a claim about my furniture damage they caused. A truly terrible experience and when I followed up about the insurance...you guessed it...they didn't respond to my multiple emails or phone calls. My advice is read my experience carefully and think if you want to be treated this way, be billed this way and have your possessions damaged this way. My advice is to STEER CLEAR! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is a small, local, dishonest outfit that does not function in a professional or respectable manner.

We used Despatch of Southampton for our recent long distant move and were so happy that we did. From my first phone conversation with Jeff, our estimate visit with Mike and then our moving crews – it was professional, friendly, and caring service throughout. After our initial experiences with Jeff and Mike, I knew Despatch was the right moving company and the moving crews confirmed that. Our moving crew leader, Luis, was superb. The crew that packed us – Luis, Danny, Alex and Juan were a great team. They were friendly, extremely efficient and took excellent care with our possessions including a glass dining table and antique glass curio cabinet. They made sure the glass was well padded and protected and both pieces survived the journey as if they had never been moved. All of our possessions arrived in excellent condition. The move-in crew, Luis and Danny plus Jose and Chris were also a great team. They worked a long, hard day getting us moved in but they never lost their smiles, their kindness or their care with our possessions. Luis and his crews made our move a pleasant experience and helped alleviate a lot of the stress that accompanies moving. I highly recommend Despatch and both of our moving teams. They surpassed our expectations. Thank you!
