I have to update my review for two reasons: the quick response on Yelp by the Business Manager (was not expecting that) and a second visit I made recently for materials to do a home project. The help was excellent and the staff member who helped me pick out the items made my shopping experience much better. My only criticism of the store, as in my original post, involves making the propane refill experience go more smoothly.

Don't believe what any of the Home Depot Installation sales reps tell you about their windows/doors "Double Lifetime Warranty." It's simply not true. Labor is not covered beyond 1 year! Look at their contract verbiage below. When I inquired about the discrepancy, this was my reply: "My understanding is the line references our lowest warranty that was available on an American Craftsman window which is 1 year and the others would in essence be an upgrade to it. I can assure you having been with Home Depot in the window installations business for over 8 years now they consistently favor on the side of taking care of the customer including any service concerns and issues." It's b******* because the salespeople will be long gone by the time you file a claim. It's what's in the contract that you sign that matters in the eyes of the law; not a marketing brochure or something said in an email. Plygem/Simonton's customer service rep, Mikka, told me that they get lots of complaints from unhappy customers when Home Depot does not honor the warranty. Moreover, they told me HD's (underpaid) subcontractor installers make a lot of mistakes. All confirmed by Simonton's supervisor, Lori Hendershot. The 6500 series window itself is warranted for 20 years and prorated afterwards. This is taken from their contract. Workmanship is only for 1 year! 7. WARRANTY AND LIMITATION ON WARRANTIES: (a) Warranty: Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement, Home Depot warrants for 1 year from the completion date that all Services shall (i) be performed with good workmanship and (ii) conform to the requirements of the Agreement. During the warranty period and within a reasonable time after receiving notice from You of a warranty claim, Home Depot may, at its sole option (i) correct or replace each Defect, or (ii) remove each Defect and refund the full purchase price thereof to You; provided, however, that all warranties are voided if (1) anyone other than Home Depot or Service Provider performs work upon or otherwise modifies any materials or Services provided under this Agreement, or (2) You fail to pay Home Depot as provided in this Agreement. (b) Limitation on Warranties: THE WARRANTIES PROVIDED IN THIS AGREEMENT ARE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE FOREGOING EXPRESS WARRANTIES CONTAINED IN PARAGRAPH 7A, IN THE WARRANTY SECTION OF THE AGREEMENT, IF ANY, OR IN THE STATE SUPPLEMENT, IF ANY. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE OR GIVEN BY HOME DEPOT OR SERVICE PROVIDER, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY FOR FITNESS OF PURPOSE, WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR ANY OTHER ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. HOME DEPOT'S EXPRESS WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED FOR ANY DEFECT CAUSED BY ABUSE, MISUSE, NEGLECT, ACTS OF GOD, LACK OF PRESCRIBED OR STANDARD MAINTENANCE, OR IMPROPER CARE/CLEANING. ANY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES PROVIDED FOR GOODS, MATERIALS, OR EQUIPMENT WILL BE PASSED THROUGH BY HOME DEPOT TO YOU, AND YOU AGREE TO LOOK SOLELY TO SUCH MANUFACTURER FOR REMEDY OF ANY DEFECT IN SUCH GOODS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT. HOME DEPOT MAY ASSIST YOU WITH WARRANTY CLAIMS AGAINST MANUFACTURERS.

I'm a contractor meaning I have to frequently shop in the lumber area of this store, and for the most part everything is fine. Though when I need help finding something, this fella with an Australian accent has got no darn idea what in the hell he's doing. One second he's ferrying off some woman who's asking 20 questions to the other end of the store, the next he's sitting around doing nothin while the bald guy and the tall guy are trying to manage the chaos goin on around em. I've also seen the guy drive a forklift... he shouldn't have a license, it's unsafe and he's gonna get someone hurt. All while I just need some wood cut so I can go on my way to the job site I'm at that particular day... it's pretty frustrating and I'm honestly starting to consider the blue store instead.

The employees there are treated HORRIBLY, they dont care and are extremely racist and sexist. The are too strict about everything and the managers and supervisors play favorites according to your race. They have no regard how the customers you treat no matter how uncomfortable the situation is. If you want a day off you must ask 3-4 weeks prior and even then its not guaranteed. If you ask to work part time they still will give you 40 hours without asking and when u change your availability it will most likely get declined.

Mixed reviews for my home town Home Depot, guess what? I feel every weekend I'm in here buying everything from outdoor plants to Light Bulbs. Sure its a large store and finding things can be frustrating. The customer service folks can be hit or miss, some will walk you to the items you're searching for and some will say left side down aisle 17. Sure there are other competitors who might offer better service. I like this store because it's close to my home and I have a Home Depot credit card. Keep rockin' "The" Home Depot!

Just refused to give me store credit for an item purchsed on my cc one month ago which did not show up. I hope I have the receipt at home. I will return it and then I am not going to shop at Home Depot anymore. The employee who was supposed to process the return and then the manager I asked to speak with acted like they could care less that I was getting ripped off by their refusal to store credit for an item I purchased. I have been shopping at the store for over 30 Years- way longer than either of them have been working here I am sure. I called the 800 number and asked if they could do something- the person I spoke with acted like he could care less but he said that the policy is they are supposed to give me a store credit but he cant enforce it and if I choose not to shop there anymore it's my choice lol. He said he can't call them and tell them what to do because they are only under contract with the name of Home Depot. Now that I know that I realize that they are willing to let a bunch of thugs run their stores, they have lost a long time customer. Whether I end up getting credited or refunded for this item or not. I will call customer service tomorrow since they are not open now and see if they can do something. The manager claimed there was no one else above him that I could speak with, a heavyset man, the cashier even loudly thanked the manager for coming over. I guess they feel very happy that they were able to stop me from getting a credit or refund for an item I paid for that was actually eligible for a store credit, the policy which they are failing to abide by in this store. That is called a scam.

I ordered 10 bags of black rubberized mulch and the transaction went through and my credit card was charged They called me later today to tell me they would indeed not be making the delivery as they were out of stock and disconnected me three times not before telling me my amex card-wouldn’t be refunded for several days First how does your system process orders for items out of stock and actually charge the persons credit card !!! Second how do you not refund immediately and offer some type of amends like a future discount rather than disconnect the customer three times. BETTER GO TO LOWES Donna DAngelone aka disenchanted with South Setauket Home Depot

Horrible people. Tropical storm Ripped through our area and power went out. The store on pond path still had power and people desperately rushed to buy batteries in plain sight near their door. The store closed at 8:00 as usual and left people pleading for help Never coming back here again

Sun 5.10.2020 Wanted to pick up some flowers for an out door garden. Made the big mistake of going to Home Depo /Setauket with the most unbelievable set up for the corona virus situation. I had to wait on an unbelievable long line to even approach the building...however all wanted to do was to go to the garden section... but I complied with what they were doing...However... they did NOT HAVE the garden center cashier open. I was told that I would have to go back out and wait ...once again ..on the long line to get back in the store and pay. The temporary Hand Written Signs which were put up on the exit and entrance to direct you were NOT CLEAR at ALL...as to what THEY (Home Depo) expected you to do to get thru the store. They seem to be written by an idiot with know Idea what the H-LL was going on and what they expected you to do. So I left my purchase and went to a local garden place who gave me a 20% discount as they were so glad I was buying from them and even took my purchases out to my car for me. Whats going on Home Depo..No people on the floor to help you...No Manager in sight or even available...sad way to run your business...D

My husband is a navy submarine veteran. He recently went to Home Depot in East Setauket to purchase house paint. Upon checking out, he asked about a veteran's discount and was told that it only applied to disabled veterans. He served for 8 years as a nuclear sub operator which was a very dangerous job. I wonder why Home Depot would not honor him and all veteran's who served our country. Next time, we will take our business to Lowe's where vets are respected and acknowledged for their service,

I give Home Depot in South Setauket 0 stars if I could. I have spent thousands of dollars there and I'm being treated like I don't matter. Recently I ordered flooring, when I went to pick it up the top boxes were damaged. The associate said he would order more flooring to replace the damaged boxes. It's been a week and the flooring is not in. I'm getting the run around. They won't give me a tracking number to check it's status. I called corporate and they did nothing. They transferred me to the manager on duty at the store who could care less about the poor service of her store or my inconvenience. I would stay away from this store.

I needed to buy an AC Unit for my daughter's apartment. There was a price difference that was advertised on the Home Depot website. I walked over to customer service, stood there for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged by two female sales associates. They were busy yapping away about their personal lives. I said, excuse me.. sorry to interrupt and continue to ask my question. 1) both were abrupt and very rude 2) both gave me wrong information. I was too annoyed and walked away to deal with their poor customer service. I went to search for another sale associate and found Mike, he's the reason for the 5 stars!!! He helped me out, was very friendly and professional. There was another sales rep that asked if I needed help with the AC unit and brought me a cart. I didn't get his name. But these guys should train those rude women in customer service.
