Decided to have my taxes professionally done for the 2019 return year before moving out of state. This was the only year I didn't do it myself as I had a house sale and misc. things and didn't want to have any issues after we moved. We traveled between their 2 offices at the time, dropping off whatever document they needed and thought everything was fine as they stated our taxes were filed and completed.
We started receiving letters from the IRS in 2021 as ONLY our income was reported. The house sale and misc. things were not filed, which was the sole reason we used their services in the first place. When I called VJN they were confused on what happened and it took several phone calls and emails before they finally stated they will need to amend our taxes. No further information was given. We were stressed as we thought we did something wrong with paperwork somewhere.
Afterwards we looked through the original paperwork they gave us and realized they had completed all the information on the worksheet but not on the actual return. The issue was "resolved" with the IRS on 06/2022. However we started receiving more letters about the 2019 returns in 2024.
Currently still dealing with the issues now and am incredibly angry about the lack service. We never received an explanation or an apology for their error. Contact and support was disappointing as we had to make several calls to their office and no one knew what was wrong. I'm not even sure I ever received a return call as I had to initiate every call. VJN never even responded to my last email. Considering this was their mistake and oversight you would think they would be more receptive to my concerns about potential tax penalties. What ended up happening was exactly what we were trying to AVOID by using VJN. Thankfully I had requested mail forwarding or we would've had missed all the letters from the IRS and who knows what else I would've potentially owed.
The whole issue with the IRS has been incredibly frustrating, stressful and time consuming. We never had any issues with our taxes until we used VJN. I would have been better off doing it ourselves, not to mention it was cheaper and would've had less headaches. The fact is I was charged for a subpar service only to face penalties plus interest from the IRS years later due to their negligence.

Nancy Helped me out with a audit/review for my franchise opportunity, even though it did not work out Nancy got to the bottom of the financial numbers for two years quickly and on short notice. I would recommend her in the future. Thanks

I called VJN associates days before my tax deadline, as I was having troubles with my previous accountant. They booked me right away, despite how busy they were. The staff is extremely competent, efficient and so very kind. Victor, was extremely thorough and helpful.. he booked me last minute with ease. Nancy, the CPA, has been amazing. A+ and totally recommended!

I reached out to VJN for assistance on my personal tax returns. Although it was extremely last minute, they were nothing but kind and helpful. While they usually work with B2B, they were more than happy to take on my personal returns. I cannot thank them enough, and would absolutely recommend to anyone!

VJN Associates has helped my business to become more efficient, organized, and on top of our finances. I meet with our accountant often and he is extremely professional, personable, and gives me the valuable information about my business that I need to keep things running smoothly and prevents any major issues come tax season.
