I highly recommend Davies for all your hardware needs. I went in looking for what I thought was gonna fix my problem and they took the time to walk through it with me, made suggestions and ultimately provided a better solution without treating me differentlybeing a woman. ( not always the case in other places) Thanks Pete for your help and providing great customer service!

We discovered Davies Hardware shortly after moving to Arlington over a dozen years ago—when a new acquaintance said, "If you need something check with Davies first, they will probably have just what you need or something better." We found that to be a 100 percent correct. Such items as: Teak Oil—so I could freshen up some old walking canes, Cape Cod Metal (Silver) Polishing Cloths, Guardsman Furniture Polish and the Guardsman treated cotton Dusting Cloth's (almost impossible to find anyplace else), Heavy Duty Scotch Packing Tape, small light bulbs (that fit the 1980s style ceiling light fixtures), different size mid-weight vinyl covers for our outdoor deck furniture; plus, knowledgeable store clerks that patiently take the time to help identify the correct product to achieve a desired result—such as immediately eliminating annoying bathroom silverfish insects—or finding the right replacement fuse in order to get the Christmas lights working again.Although the COVID lockdown slowed business down, the folks at Davies used the time to bring in additional product shelving to further improve stock displays with increased item offerings. My wife and I find that when we visit the store there is no hurry to leave, because we just might find something that we didn't know that we actually needed.Compliments to the owners that reinvest in their business, hire qualified people, and remain competitive on all fronts. It's a basic formula that is in the DNA of Davies Hardware, and is truly appreciated.

Small local business with very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! Multiple visits and they made recommendations, identified old hardware, found fixes, and did it pleasantly and patiently. Great crew!

If you need it, they have it. Davies' has an incredibly eclectic inventory of hardware, tools, paints, etc., etc. They've been in business for well over a hundred years, so they know hardware. Yet the store is completely modern. The staff are highly knowledgeable and always willing to help. Definitely a Poughkeepsie institution.
