The hostess sat us at a table on a sat nite at 630 ( when we had a reservation for a few weeks) and later were surrounded by screaming kids.. why were kids under the age of 2 sitting next to us when they should have been in bed ... instead of ruining our dinner that cost $$$.. or we shud have been in an adult section????? DONT GO !!

Outstanding food and delicious cocktails! Service from Starlin was top notch. He was friendly and courteous. The dark chocolate dessert was a perfect way to end a fantastic meal! Don't miss this spot if you're in Montauk!!

Amazing sweet waitress. Kitchen & Bar were not only slow but the quality was awful. Returned the fries for being soggy, black & blue scallops were awful, fluke app was good. Drinks don't come until after we finished apps. Waited an hour for sub par scallops. Told waitress to run my card before bill came she helped me bounce. I feel bad for paying $180 all in. You live & learn I guess

It's been very easy to get reservations South Edison this summer, even on a Saturday night so we were a bit concerned about that. There aren't too many restaurants in Mtk. But, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. They do a great job with the veggies that accompany the mains. We were also pleasantly surprised that the buffalo cauliflower wasn't deep fried and it was a nice twist to have baby cauliflower. The biggest negative is that there is almost nothing on the menu for a vegan. Our daughter is allergic to milk and vegan, so there was only one main for her, a pasta that could be made vegan. It was a nice dish, but it would be nice to have other options. Another missing thing in the menu is that there are no starches served with the mains and no sides ... potatoes or rice that u could order to accompany the main. There's also no bread available. There are lots of people who don't do starches, but for someone like my husband whose veggie repertoire is limited he was a bit hungry and would have enjoyed a starch with his meal. My husband and I had the fluke and the scallops. The fish and scallops were fresh. The fluke lacked some flavor. It could have had a bit more robust seasoning. Overall it was a good experience. Our server was attentive and kind. We will return, but probably not with our daughter, unless she wants to have the same exact meal again. It was a pretty basic pasta with a red sauce and I think some eggplant. It was fine, but not exceptional in a way that you would be dying to have the same dish again soon.

Delicious food, beautifully plated. Great cocktail selections: Oh So Sexy was just about the best tequila-based concoction I've ever imbibed. Wine list was small but well-curated and fairly priced. The small issue we had was with the bar service: our appetizers arrived before our cocktails. A glass of wine ordered with the entree never arrived. Also, and this is a personal but major pet peeve — the restaurant has NO bread. Not even if you're willing to pay for it. Which I find totally flabbergasting as well as annoying. But again, I truly enjoyed the food and beverages we ordered. Highly recommend to anyone vacationing in Montauk, NY.

Frank and the staff at South Edison are incredible. Every time we come here whether a big group or small they make you feel special. I can't recommend South Edison enough to anyone who comes out to Montauk

We liked the food way more than we thought we would, based on the fairly basic look of the restaurant. We ate outside and asked them to turn down the music and we did, so that was nice. We would have had a rough time indoors, where the music was louder and played only one unidentifiable song on repeat. But the food was actually very, very good., and prices reasonable.

Poor service, had to ask the waitress three times for water refills. Has this placed changed owners? We came here about 4 years ago and it was wonderful. Skip it, find somewhere else.

A little bit of a disappointment. Not an inexpensive venue and food was not up to expectations sadly. Food was mostly good, but uneven in execution. Brie bites appetizer came with an interesting relish but were not hot and crisp. Kale salad was nicely dressed and plentiful. Fluke entree and pork parm both were bland as presented and needed some zhushing with salt and pepper. Atmosphere is noisy and not particularly interesting. We heard desserts were good here but decided not to take another expensive risk to find out. Our server was pleasant and efficient and kept up with our table even after a large party was sat next to us.

This place is a hidden gem in Montauk. The food was absolutely amazing, I had the fluke sashimi (favorite thing I tried) and the tuna entree. My husband kept raving about the burger and probably one of the best burgers he's had in a long time. The drinks were on point as well. You can tell this place cares and puts love into their food and cocktails. The staff was super sweet and cared a lot, which can be hard to find in the busy season in Montauk. Definitely recommend this place!

We came here for my husbands birthday with our infant daughter (in a stroller). Ashley went above and beyond to provide us with excellent service and made sure we had space for a stroller and was so kind and patient with us all, we felt like friends celebrating a birthday by the end! The food was absolutely incredible - we would come back and dine and order everything we had again (the cavatelli, tuna, ceviche, dates, cobbler, bread pudding, corn, and every drink we had was amazing too!)

HORRENDOUS experience - made a 7pm reservation, seated at 8:15. Waited over an hour to just have water. Food took over 2 hours. 6 attended only 5 meals came. Last meal was slapped together and brought 35 minutes after the table was fed. Staff was beyond rude, especially a heavy set blonde bartender who was beyond insulting. Granted it is a holiday weekend, there is still no reason for what we experienced or how staff spoke. We had over a $250 check and it was the biggest waste of money.

Sadly gone downhill. Used to have the best food and best vibe. Last night they had live music so loud you had to shout at the people sitting across from you. This started at 6pm. That's just not what we were looking for. Food isn't as good as it used to be either

The prices are out of control. A glass of wine for $22. A two small empanada appetizer for $19. There was a large party occupying most of the restaurant. We were in no hurry so it wasn't a big deal. Our food came out colder than it should have. The waitress was nice
