Douglas Elliman sold a house nextdoor to mine. Now I have 8 illegal renters living in a illegal two family home that is coded as a single family in Bellmore. Douglas Elliman is destroying our community one home at a time. Don’t work with a company who doesn’t have the best interest of the community in mind. Shame on you Douglas Elliman.
Update: Our cul de sac is still living a nightmare thanks to Douglas Elliman. Illegal renters speed through our block and leave their garbage out all week. Thank you so much for selling this home to a land lord who illegal builds 2 family residences in single family homes. You have done a great disservice to the Bellmore-Merrick community.
Please don’t use this real estate company. Use a local team who cares about the people in the community and their well being.

The good reviews are from his family...Very very poor everything..Todd is not only unprofessional.. but insulting, wasteful, ocd, disrespectful, not at all knowledgeable.

My wife and I were extremely happy with Todd Litz at Douglas Elliman.Being in the moving and storage business, I work with hundreds of realtors. Todd was far and away the best realtor I have come across.We called Todd on a Sunday after seeing a home we really liked, but ours was not on the market yet. He met with us within 2 hours of our call and had our house listed immediately. Todd came up with comps and what I thought to be a high asking price for our home, but thankfully we trusted him-Within days, he had multiple offers above ask.Todd is also extremely prompt, answering calls/texts immediately, and showing up early for showings.Besides all of the above, Todd also goes to bat for you. We had a very contentious closing, where buyers, sellers and attorneys were not on the same page. Todd puled all parties aside and was able to save the deal in the final hour. Not his job, but that's the sort of guy he is.Buying, selling and moving can be very stressful. Having a consummate professional like Todd on your team, makes the whole process easier and more enjoyable. Thanks for everything Todd!

Our neighbor is selling with Douglas Elliman with listing agent Cindy BiBiasi and they are bullying us to sign over someOf our land (we have been here for 17 years!) just to make a sale, how can they be trusted to sell or buy from???

This by far was the worst experience attempting to sell my house. The broker Paul Conforti neglected my listing for over a year. Never followed through on anything, begged me to lower the price several times and then ultimately never showed up at any showings. Never did an open house, never provided signage, never even listed the property correctly for a year after asking him to make changes several times. The listing was COMPLETELY wrong online which absolutely contributed to no showings. Furthermore I finally was able to get the editing done after threatening to fire him. The day the listing was finally changed - mind you with a ton of spelling errors.... a buyer magically appeared.
Well low and behold we had a full ask offer. Great... went into contract, and allegedly this buyer was 'GOLDEN'. Fast Forward more than 3 months... the buyers credit was awful, no income, no money, no chance of being approved. I was held up for 3+ months because the broker did not do his due diligence and assured me the buyer was perfect. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. DO NOT TRUST this brokerage... when I complained to the manager weeks ago, Barbara, she assured me Paul Conforti would call me and again no phone calls, and she never even returned my call as well. The lack of communication and professionalism is horrendous.
The can try and blame everything on Covid-19, sure we are in different times, but phones still work, text still works, and showings are happening every minute!
This broker and brokerage experience was HORRIBLE. STEER CLEAR!!!

Look no further than Douglas Elliman's Merrick office if you are looking to sell your home or looking for an agent to purchase a home. Right from the moment I called the office, the front desk staff was courteous and efficient. They quickly transferred us to the office manager, Barbara Shultis, who educated us with regards to the selling and buying process. Barbara assigned us to a real estate agent who was a seasoned professional. We sold and purchased a home without an ounce of stress and experienced only true professionalism. Thank you Douglas Elliman!

The one star review is really because of Evan Mogelefsky and how he is not an honest person. We recently dealt with Evan and the experience was anything, but professional. The house we were looking at had a gorgeous deck and pool only later to find out nothing was permitted. Evan never mentioned this and then had the audacity to say he did and we didn’t listen. To add insult to injury he lied to my agent who is also a Douglas Elliman agent. I hope he isn’t a sign of what the brokers from that office are like.Stay away from Evan, but also from Steven as well. Both are inept
