(David Nickels PA.) I had my first appointment with St. Joseph’s Physicians at the North Medical Center. Wow I was totally surprised by how good, caring, knowledgeable and empathetic David Nickles was. I have finally found a provider that I know has my health care concerns to be important. Thank you St, Joseph’s and thank you David for being the person you are.

Imagine being the first patient taken in an empty waiting room. You go in and after 25 minutes you see a nurse who tells you the Dr. Will be right in and after 40 more minutes ...this is considered ridiculous by a Drs Organization that set the outer limit at 25-30. My guess is the Dr wasn't even present yet! So tell me that.

They dropped me as a patient without notifying me. Do NOT use this practice.

David Nickels, PA is one of the most empathetic and reassuring providers I have met. His comforting, yet realistic and intellectual demeanor allowed for a quality, personal conversation about my health. I went in to the appointment with a ten year gap in primary care and left feeling that my concerns were heard, and when appropriate, validated with actionable next steps. I feel confident for the first time in many years that I have found a provider whom I can trust with my ongoing healthcare needs. Thank you.

I've been a patient here for years now but every time I get a doctor here they are constantly leaving and not staying here which maybe that alone should say something?

Yet again I have called to schedule a physical to be told that my provider has left the practice. I was able to get two physicals in with this last one. I can you establish a relationship with a provider, when they can't seem to keep any?
In order to schedule a physical I will have to have an appointment with the new provider who was given her entire caseload. This appointment will cost a co-pay to go in for a chief complaint of "nothing."
Since changing over in early 2016 we have had a minimum of 5 providers all of which left after about two physicals. In addition to having our physicians bounced between Baldwinsville, Cicero and Liverpool, with the Baldwinsville office "closed until further notice."
All sick visits (including my teens) have been "go to Urgent care or the ER." Including a follow-up for my husband following pneumonia that the ER requested he follow-up with primary in 7 to 10 days. They wanted him to go to the ER (it might be covid).

Horrible costumer services people who have an English accent (who speak English but with an accent) don't even try to understand them, they don't know their job and don't want to answer simple questions even with people who can speak English without any accent. What a disappointment !

I have never left a review of anyplace in my life, but the unprofessionalism associated with this place warrants it! My appointment that I made and had to wait 3 months for was canceled with no notice except a letter in the mail? Nothing on the patient portal , email , phone etc! I called to confirm and was told I was notified by mail by the receptionist who’s already giving me an unpleasant feeling, then when she tries to find another appointment I was told I would have to wait another 4 months. I asked if she was kidding the response I received was have a nice day and a hang up! I can’t believe this is acceptable

Following an acute fall down a staircase, my 93-year-old father was hospitalized, and then released home. He had some rather deep wounds and a fractured lower vertebra. He had already had serious mobility issues, and needed assistance to get to a bathroom. With my mother also in the hospital, we (children and grandchildren) attempted to request that his primary care physician at St Joseph-Liverpool give him a referral for a home health care aide. It is now two weeks later, and we are still nowhere near getting that assistance. What we are getting: no one answering the phone due to "experiencing system problems", or 20-30-minute holds simply to speak to someone/anyone; finally speaking to someone and clearly and intelligently describing the issue and the situation and leaving a callback phone number and receiving no response whatsoever.I moved away from the Syracuse area 30 years ago, and have had my own primary care physicians in other cities over those years. I have never had to wait more than a minute for a receptionist to pick up the phone, and was never treated as shockingly poorly as these people are treating their patients. This feels to me like a primary care practice that has been sold to a large corporation or insurance company, where patient care has been left by the wayside.

Dr. Dilgio told my bestfriend who just had a baby 3 months ago that she didn’t need meds or therapy for postpartum depression “unless she wanted to drive off a bridge with her baby in the car” after she had reach out for help because she is struggling.
