Man and Beast
2779 Main St, Lake PlacidLove this store. We take the dogs here every year and the staff is so kind and welcoming. This year they helped up for our pups for a rain suit.
Great prices and they have a very large variety of items you could need for your furry friends. Everything from food to clothes to leashes and so much more.

The Coffee Bar
2527 Main St, Lake Placid? This place is a hidden gem ? You can find it at the back of the Alpine Mall on the main street. You get a nice view of Mirror Lake, but more importantly, the coffee is great! We also had bagel sandwiches here for breakfast, and I thought they were the best in town. We especially enjoyed talking with the owners & learning more about life as a local in Lake Placid. Highly recommended!

Wiseguys Sports Bar & Grill
11 School St, Lake PlacidThe poutine was excellent, especially with the cheese melted rather than just having curds on top, which I prefer. The bartender was quick with the drinks, but the real star of the meal was the roasted red pepper soup with Gouda—it was absolutely fantastic. By the end, I was full and completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend it.

The Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn
77 Mirror Lake Dr, Lake PlacidThis is more of a boomer place, with typical American fare. There's nothing all that adventurous or unique on the menu, but people come here for the view. They do offer gluten free flat bread. Everything is your standard American tourist fare.

The Great Room & Mackenzie Restaurant
101 Olympic Dr, Lake PlacidI usually avoid hotel restaurants, but this one is exceptional. A medium sized dinner menu, but with a good variety to please anyone. Dishes are very well prepared and tasty.
The place itself is outstanding - a large room with lofty ceiling and gigantic windows overlooking the town of Lake Placid, Mirror Lake, and the mountain backdrop.
I have eaten here several times and will continue to do so while staying at the hotel.

Dack Shack
2099 Saranac Ave, Lake Placid2nd time coming. The burgers are great and so is the prime rib sandwich. We enjoyed the appetizers as well.
However the Mac and Cheese options were pretty odd and ended up being kind of gross. Lobster Mac includes uncooked celery diced into the meal? Not trying to eat a crunchy Mac and Cheese so felt like we wasted $20+ on that one…

The Pickled Pig
2639 Main St, Lake PlacidEven though it was a wee bit crowded, we were seated promptly. Service was excellent along with the food. Our rack of ribs went fast. Nice choices of beer. We were seated inside and when a sudden downpour came through, the servers sprang into action and made sure everybody got inside along with their food. Even the pool table was used a temporary dining spot.
