I brought my car in to be inspected. After dropping it off I received a phone call telling me my car failed and was quoted $616.00 for new control arm. They also informed me I had a low battery and needed new rear tires. I told them not to pass me and I would figure it out as I needed the car that day. When I went to pick up my car the worker ignored me for ten mins while on phone in the garage. Two days later I brought the car to my reliable mechanic and he not only passed it but showed me under my vehicle to prove it was safe and I was being taking advantage of. I will never visit this location again

I really wish I could give zero stars. I went in here to get a headlight changed for a fix it ticket so I wouldn’t have to deal with having a cop look at it. They pulled my truck in and the. Came back giving my some story about how the issue wasn’t the light bulb it was the electrical and they would have to spend more time looking at it and might have to replace the whole headlight housing. I normally do all my own mechanical work on my truck and have been doing so for a long time. This didn’t sound right to me so I thanked them and told them I would take my truck. I drove down the street to the auto parts store, bought a headlight, changed it on a matter of seconds and what do you know… it works fine!!! I drove back to the shop to confront the guys about lying to me and they continued to make excuses and tell me that I needed to be nicer and that I should be grateful that they didn’t charge me for a diagnostic or damage my vehicle. This place is a joke. They are just trying to rip you off. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

This Munro Muffler are crooks. I've had problems with them in the past. My daughter went to them for an oil change. They claimed she needed four new tires, spark plugs and filters. I told her to leave. I sent her to Midas in Rhinebeck who I have had great experiences with. She didn't need tires and there was nothing wrong with her spark plugs. DO NOT go to Monro in Kingston.

***Very disappointed in Monro Tire in Kingston***Went in to Monro Tire for the engine light being on. They took my car in and came back out about 10 minutes later and told me I needed to replace all my Ignition Coils and all 4 spark plugs. The total cost would be around $1,100.00 dollars and they could have that done before closing. I refused to let them do the work and got a second opinion. Parts were $166.81 and labor was $150.00. What a rip off this business is and the person that waited on me had a non caring attitude and a very dry personality. Stay away from Albany Ave. Kingston Monro!!!!!

The guy at the counter doesn't have good communication skills. My inspection failed. Didn't get my discount through caradvise. They took my old inspection sticker off and sent me on my way with no sticker on my car. Place is ridiculous.

*!!!!WARNING!!!!*I gave it a 1 star review because 0 isn't an option. I brought my car in for a NY State inspection the car was in the shop for hours. I got told the vehicle needed brakes & rotors, which was a lie as they were done within the last month. After that I was told "The car failed the E-Brake Test", which is them putting the E-Brake on and holding the car at 1,500 RPMS and expecting it not to move. When I told them this didn't make any sense, the car makes a lot of Torque and can easily move itself with the E-Brake on and threes no way this test is done to all cars as they all weigh different and have different levels of power. I was told "The Cable could be lose, the mechanic would inspect it and correct it for a fee"....I agreed because I was there. 15 minutes later I get told that both the calipers were no good. Which wasn't true as the brakes functioned perfectly fine and they couldn't provide me with an answer as to why both calipers would became damaged. As soon as I left my car wasn't accelerating properly, it felt sluggish and a burning smell developed. I immediately drove it to my mechanic a few miles away. He diagnosed the smell as brake pads, when he inspected further he found the calipers and the E-Brake Levers were mangled and jammed into the on position and the E-Brake cable wasn't attached securely, clearly this was broken on purpose or from pulling up too far on the lever during their test. The conclusion was the E-brake cable was tampered with or broke by the technician and in their attempt to cover / repair their mistakes they placed an object on the lever(s) and struck it, jamming it into the on position. On my bill this was noted as "Brake Labor".I contacted the local shop and let them know what happened, they were extremely rude and responded by telling me "when your calipers are broken and need replacement, the E-Brake will stay on and there's nothing that can be done besides paying them in total close to 1,000 dollars to repair the car". This is a total lie as my calipers and brakes functioned fine before I drove in there, no smell or sluggish acceleration. My mechanic repaired the car for almost half of their quote, I contacted their corporate office and they forwarded me to Travelers insurance to file a claim, they will not look into the matter any further, even after I provided documentation and my mechanic offered to speak with them to provide further details. So I'm left to spend thousands to sue them in court or just eat the cost of the damage. When I did some research reading reviews, I find nearly the identical thing took place to another customer last year.

Made an appointment on September 5 2023 for the next day. The appointment was for 9am i showed up. Told the guy why I was there, oil change and tire rotation. After about 30 minutes he wrote up the ticket. Then when I checked the ticket the wrong oil was on there. Then after another 30 minutes he corrected it, then said it was going to take another hour to get my car in. Such a waste of time.

I went into have an inspection on my car, and I don’t know the persons name that did the inspection, but he told me my four tires were choppy and bald . I don’t think he would have passed my car. If they were choppy and bald I think he just wanted me to purchase four tires and he was nasty. he didn’t like that. I questioned him, and I knew my tires were fine . I’ll never go back. what a bad attitude.
