Asked for a priority mail envelope on 08/12/2024 at about 4:30 pm in the 1st counter, from counter 1 replied “we don’t have it. Go to other post office”
What a service !?

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I always try to use the self serve kiosk, but when my package was too big to fit in the drop box, the workers refused to just take it and insisted I wait on the line that was literally, to the door. There was a worker already in the back, not helping customers, and refused to just take the package. I had to email corporate who responded and said:
"please accept my sincerest apology for the bad experience you had at the Jackson Height Post Office, their ignorance to your request, which is as simple as to accept a mailable-ready package, is unacceptable. We brought this issue to the management and they addressed this issue and said will make the appropriate corrections."
I totally get not cutting the line, but if you have a worker, who is just sorting packages from the drop box, I don't get why you can't just take the package.
I've also had issues where my mother has re-routed a package here for pickup, and have been interrogated as to why I didn't put this or that address if I'm going to re-route, why am I picking up for my mother and if I'm picking up, why didn't I just use my name. Mind you, our addresses match the address on the package, and I literally have her ID. An absolute power trip - give me my package, the reasons behind everything else is really none of their concern.
Overall, this location, and the workers, need a re-vamp on their training, and highly recommend going elsewhere, or using another shipping service.

Always a a huge line and some of the workers are just miserable people who hate their job and life and you can just tell by the way they act and treat and respond you I would actually prefer to drive further to another location then this one and I went on a Saturday morning thumbs down ?

All the bad reviews are ridiculous. Have you all never been to a post office before? Of course it's going to be busy on certain days at certain times. If you really want to walk in with no queue, take a walk a few blocks to the branch on 30th Ave, which is always empty. Or use the machines. Or pre-pay for your item, print your label at home, and drop it off using said machine.
The staff here deserves beyond five stars for keeping cool and friendly despite all the haters who seem to want to have a bad experience just so they can write a one-star review.

If I could give it 0 stars I would, the ladies who serve there are so so so rude, so despotic, without education, we need a service that's why we go to this place but not to receive such despotic and rude responses from these women
They don't even have the education to explain the process, they simply answer with signs until opening their mouth hurts.
We need better service, we don't need people like that

Workers are great. They doing their best. AC is amazing. My wait time in line was about 20 minutes. If you have to use this location try doing not during their possible lunch break, otherwise prepare to wait.

The service of the place in general is TERRIBLE! Extremely slow, there is always a huge queue, you waste too much time just to do a quick procedure! Few cashiers and the heat inside is stifling! How is it possible that they don't take action on the hundreds of negative comments!!!!

I tried to avoid this post office if I can.
I have lived in this neighborhood for 40 years , this place has never changed.
For the most part, they don’t care . It’s not the staffs, it’s the management.

It was horrible. I was using the walk-in service for my passport on Monday, and the walk-in service started at 8 AM. When I arrived, there were already people in a line and no staff members were there until 8:10 am. They should be there on time

Warning: they only see four people for walk-ins for passports (mon wed fri (8-9). People start lining up at 5/530 (really). Check with people ahead of you in case they are holding the line for multiple other people, as it’s not four families, it’s four total passports. If you have a child who needs both parents present for a passport, there is a form you can get notarized so only one of you needs to be present. Good luck.

I had a scheduled appointment today at 1:45 for my sons passport. When I arrived they told me I didn’t have a scheduled appointment and the lady who is in charge of the passport was extremely rude. I was extremely upset. She told me I was a liar and she was not going to help me because she is done for the day. I asked to speak to a manager. Supervisor came and was trying to assist. Not sure why the post office has very rude customer experience. Please coach your staff to be professional and nice to their customers.

Bad and getting worse. Why can't there be more workers staffing the windows? There are usually just two windows open, or only one if a worker takes a break. If you're very, very lucky there will be three windows functioning. The lines have been long for years but now seem to be getting even longer. No one ever in the lobby helping people like at some other locations. Try to avoid this awful location if you possibly can!

I genuinely think that the people behind the counter are trying their best, but this post office is overcrowded and dysfunctional. USPS needs to open another post office in the area to alleviate the overcrowding that occurs here. The photo I've included doesn't even show how the line went all the way to the exit, and it's like that EVERY time I go. In the last year, they have lost two of my packages that I dropped. I have to go there this afternoon, and I've been putting it off because of how terrified I am of the potential wait. Please, USPS, help us out here in Jackson Heights! We need it desperately!
