I will start off by saying the lakefront view is beautiful. That’s about where the positives of our stay with Plum Point Lodge stopped. We checked in to the hotel Friday at 4pm, had the suite in the main building, and went up to our room. The room was clean for the most part, bed was comfortable enough. From our room you could hear the cleaning staffs music blaring, not a big deal as it’s 4pm in the afternoon. What was a bigger deal was that they would again blare music from 9:00pm to 10:00pm that was clearly audible in our room. As well as every door that got slammed from people coming and going. Our television remote didn’t work and the TV kept resetting the volume to 30 and displaying audio pop ups randomly. They had a dinner event the following night and you could hear all the comings and going. Finally waking up Sunday morning to get breakfast we were told the cook didn’t show up… All in all I was only going to give a 3 star review until cook didn’t show up so we couldn’t even get breakfast on Sunday. The suite definitely wasn’t worth what we payed for it and will be taking future business to a different location.

Beautiful spot right on Seneca Lake. Our room was a bit small but totally comfortable with a nice size bathroom w/ large shower. We ate at the restaurant there and enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast the next morning. I would stay there again anytime.

The view from our 2nd floor room was spectacular! Thanks to the wonderful staff and crew for a relaxing & peaceful stay. Location is within 15-20 minutes of Geneva (Water Street Cafe-must stop for lunch or breakfast) Penn Yan - Windmill market, Spotted Duck Ice cream, Watkins Glen-Jerlandos Italian Restaurant, and of course, first stop Sapalta at Plum Point Lodge. Truly excellent experience and we will return!

My husband booked this hotel for our anniversary and the photos are deceiving and so are the reviews because there should be a separation between restaurant service and hotel. It was a Lack luster experience. If this is my review after an update than I can’t imagine what it was like prior to the renovation. Things that we were upset with are the air conditioning and heating unit made a noise , mattress quality was sagging and way to soft that if 2 people slept on it, it caved in, no closets, no coffee maker, no tables, garbage pails were extremely small, no microwave, very cramped between the bathroom door ; the bathroom was the largest room and least cramped but lacking enough towels and had a half roll of toilet paper and no refills and finally the walls were paper thin and you can hear everything outside your door. If having a closeness to the mid lake is of importance to you then this is a good option. Otherwise I found it an understaffed property and a bit disappointing for our anniversary weekend.

Had a wonderful stay at this property!Great staff makes all the difference. So I want to start with thanking them. Taylor and Hailey at the front desk were so nice and accommodating to our needs. Mike the grounds keeper was friendly and very helpful in making our stay in enjoyable. Trinity waited on us for breakfast and was attentive with great positive energy. Finally Hailey and Billy Joe from housekeeping were just as friendly and helpful as the rest of the Plum Point crew. The rooms were clean and with extra touches just to accommodate us!Our 2 day stay included staying in 2 different rooms on the property by our choice and the property's accommodating our request. We stayed in a traditional room the first night and their famous Yurts the second night. The yurt was our favorite, being a unique and enjoyable experience. The property has changed names recently from Rainbow Cove to Plum Point. Regardless of the name this is place is worth staying at for its location, unique rooms (the Yurts), and AWESOME staff!! We didn't eat at Sapalta for dinner due to it being a little too fancy with its menu choices for our taste. However it was great for the breakfast buffet. The first day we arrived, sunday, there was a wedding being held. Both the ceremony and the reception were held on property. The next morning we saw most of the wedding party at breakfast. The parents of the bride and groom raved at how wonderful everything was and how accommodating the plum point crew was in helping the wedding and reception be a great time!! From what we saw it looked beautiful.

We had 17 people booked for two nights. Even with booking in January, one of the couples got switched out of their requested room 1 in the North Cottage. NOT RIGHT. You pay for a room you have liked for 2 years in a row and get moved out for a couple with a dog.We asked for a picnic table to be moved closer to the fire area so we could keep our drinks and snacks on it. Promises, promises, it never happened. Then Amy was downright rude to one of our group. She spoke to her like she was a child when the door was sticky and she couldn't get it open.We have brought 17-22 people here for 2 nights for the past three years. Plum Point needs to step up their game. We want to make it 4 next year but we are talking about other options.

Stayed in a yurt for one night, which was fun and novel. There's even a pull-out couch for kids if needed. The not so great: checking under the bed to make sure no items were being left we saw that it was filthy. Lost earplugs, dust, etc. Gross! Clean under the bed, yall. Also had dinner at the restaurant which was decent but obscenely overpriced. We were regaled with the chef's pastry credentials and dessert was by far the weakest course. Panna cotta was like thick, dry jello, lol. Wth? I don't know, it was cute but overall can't give it more than 3 stars.

We stayed at a yurt while visiting a friend who lives in a small cottage (too small for us to sleep there) down the road. We loved the yurt!! There was a queen bed for hubby and me and a futon for my 6-year-old and the dog. We even had plenty of room to add the pack n play for my 1-year-old. The site was beautiful! We didn't get to go in the pool but wish we had more time to do that. The dock on the lake was stunning. I spent time there journaling, reading and relaxing. I was able to buy a bottle of wine from the shop (although it was marked up quite a bit). We got the breakfast buffet in the restaurant one of the days we were there and it would've been fine if it were free... but it was definitely not worth $15 a person we were charged. Oh well. That was the only downside. Everything else was great!

No closet or area to hang up clothes, no table or desk. Staff is not clear about procedures and rules. Consistently got different info or answers from a variety of staff. Barely any welcome on check-in and no info provided on dining, amenities (not many), how to use keypad, etc. No Housekeeping to empty wastebasket and pick up used towels even when sign was placed to indicate we wanted that service.

We stayed a couple nights in one of the yurts and had a great time. The entire estate was very clean and beautifully designed. A couple of us had yurts and they were clean and had comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, refrigerator and TV. Great location close to wineries, Watkins Glen, and walkable waterfront restaurant/bar. We can't wait to go back.

It was our anniversary and my husband wanted to surprise me, and I was it’s a great location, the food was good. The room was soooo dirty! It’s a-shame for the price. I couldn’t find the remote and I got no assistance. The next day I pulled the dresser away from the wall and there was the remote along with dust cob webs and hair and wrappers that miss the garbage can. Same seen under the bed. All hard wood floors nothing a swifter couldn’t handle if used. Other than the bed it was disgusting. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want my hubby to feel bad. No I will not be staying there again!!

If you like a clean stay with a respectful staff, don’t choose this place! For my sister’s bachelorette, we stayed in the “suite” and it was dirty, fans were covered with dust and I woke up sick and congested, the toilet seat was broken and slid back and forth, we had to wipe down everything in the room. It was a fight to get fresh towels and wash cloths which shouldn’t be an issue. We woke up excited for a good breakfast and at 9am, strolled downstairs to four food containers for a buffet pretty much empty. After requesting the food to be filled back up, we waited 20 minutes for fresh food and wish we didn’t. The eggs were wet and runny, sausage was disgusting and I left hungrier than when I came. $20 down the toilet for cold, gross food. The food place and the hotel are in the same building but hotel people don’t know what the kitchen’s doing and kitchen people have no idea what the hotel is doing. We couldn’t get straight answers for any questions and went back and forth to different front desk people multiple times to leave with no answers. Overall, this place has a beautiful location, but if you want somewhere clean and a front desk staff that cares about your stay, this is the wrong place.
