It started with parking in lot . It was half filled . Was told by staff customers mist park in street on bussy northern blvd . Go into the filthiest tiny lobby ive ever scene . The place is over grown with weeds like a horror house . I was given the most filthiest car . I asked if they would clean it . They said they dont clean them on outside. But they had a car in garage they just cleaned spotless . The salesman never removed his black dark sunglasses. Maybe everything looks cleaner that way . We waited as they spoke about other customers like we weren’t there. As we are leaving they say no smoking or pets in car !!! Youll have to pay $400 to clean . I have pictures & videos of it all . Even emailed hertz . They respond in 3-5 days . Tomorrow is 5 business days . Lets see . Never ever go there.

I don't understand how this place has one star reviews. I had no issue picking up my car. I booked off of a third party app and they had me out the door in 15 min. Cracking jokes the entire time! 10/10 would come back

If I could give the Hertz Great Neck, NY location a zero rating I would. They are scam artists and liars. Please do not rent from this location. Go to any other location, but this one. Upon arrival, I was told the small SUV I rented was unavailable, meanwhile the car I rented with the picture of it on my phone from the rental agreement was sitting in the parking lot. Instead they gave me a car that was clearly a sedan, but that they were stating it was a crossover. That was a lie. I could not drive the car they wanted me to take which I knew I wouldn't be able to because I couldn't see over the dashboard. They clearly saw I could not. I am 4'11 and I always rent an SUV because of height challenge/handicap. Even after seeing it was not possible for me to drive they offered me another car that would cost me an addition $110. Then when I returned the car they charged me for gas which I returned the car with more gas than when they gave it to me. When I called the office they said they knew they made a mistake, but since the rental was done there was nothing they could do, which was another lie, because my credit card company said it was still pending so they could. They told me to call billing in customer service, but there is no way to speak with a person through the customer service phone number. I was shocked that Hertz no longer has people to speak with about concerns. You can only email your concerns, which I did, but now I am waiting for the charge to post so I can dispute it with my credit card. Please stay away from this scam location. They really are liars and trying to take your money. They don't have any issue lying to you. I am really upset this is Hertz too, because there really is no customer service so there is no accountability. They treated me so poorly and unkindly, because being my height can sometimes be a challenge, but most people will make the accommodation to help. These people did the opposite. They tried to take as much money as they could from me. This includes the manager and sales person working there. Very sad, stay away.

Made a reservation for a large full size sedan and went there to be told there were no cars but only a small outdated Toyota Corolla with hubcap wheels… They had many other cars in the lot but they didn’t make an exception to give me one. I told the lady to cancel my reservation she said she can’t and I’d have to call to cancel which is ridiculous. I was then on hold with Hertz for 50 minutes to cancel this reservation. Too bad this town doesn’t have any decent car rental shops. Worth it to go through Turo or go to LGA or JFK…

The people who work here are very very very slow. When you look at them they look like they dont even want to be here. Terrible experience I recommend people not to go here unless you want to waste your time. Had to wait so long just to get my car.

When people are ready to bring up a class action lawsuit, please let me know. The amount of stress and hardship in these comments speak volumes. Emilie Jean and Rowen are liars and thieves. Attempted to charge me for a broken windshield on a car that was documented and then refused close my contract when I refused to go through my insurance to repair it. I will NOT scam my insurance company and lie for them…so they got vindictive. I got threatening emails of legal repercussions for a car that I returned days earlier. When that didn’t work, they charged me for tolls I never went through. They asked me for credit card purchases that would prove my locations at the times but I didn’t have any. I use cash. But when I tried to offer my location app from my phone (who travels state to state without a phone in this day and age?), they rejected that. I went back and forth with the corporate office and even tried to get photos from the MTA and Port Authority toll crossings but was unable to. So in order to walk away from the stress of it all, I ate the $90+. I hope people see this and we can collectively put an end to people’s torture. As a result of the experience with Emilie Jean (especially) and Rowen, I now solely rent from Enterprise and their subsidiaries.

DON’T GO THERE!! This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Pickup the car with a safety issue in the tire. Went back to replace it with another one. The Manager (black guy) told me to fix it out of my pocket and bring the invoice to them. Really!? Does it even make sense to anybody? How can they ask their customers to fix their car when the issue has been already?
Hertz really needs to take care of these rude receptionists. He was very unfriendly from the beginning.

My wife rents all the time from herts.. but this time the girl who attended to my wife was rude and very unprofessional.. other than that the it was okay??cars was clean.
