It was literally 2 minutes before close the manager not only let me in but helped me shop and checked the back when one item wasn’t available. “The lady who was working at the paint section last night was the only one out of the past three Home Depots I’ve been to who was helpful. I just moved and I’ve been trying to paint my home. Every other employee I spoke with I told I have never painted before, and they didn’t bother to tell me that you can’t wash flat paint - or that flat paint couldn’t be used in a bathroom/ room with a fireplace. I’ve had to repaint two rooms already because of this. I only found out I needed another type of paint, because I googled it. The lady I spoke with yesterday, actually took the time to explain what the different types of paint were for, how they looked (even showing me photos), and that I could get samples (no one else had told me any of this previously). She was the only employee helping customers back to back, while everyone else was standing around either doing nothing, or talking to each other. Despite this, no one had made sure she had her break all day. I’m giving five stars to her. Hopefully she is treated well as an employee because she deserves credit for actually knowing what she is talking about, being helpful, and being attentive to customers basically nonstop.”

“I'm not sure why this store has such bad reviews. My mother and I had a great experience when we were buying floor tiles. We had a lovely man Bill come right up to help..and we found some that were on clearance that were perfect. They had exactly how many boxes we needed. The boxes were insanely heavy..8 huge porcelain pieces per box. But Bill put them in a cart for us and helped load them into our tiny car. They were so heavy that the trunk was almost dragging on the ground haha. It turned out that we bought the wrong kind and had to immediately turn back around *sigh* When we got back Bill came out and helped unload the car with us. We felt so bad, but he was so kind and didn't seem annoyed at all. We will definitely be buying the right tiles there. They have a great selection and good prices. Special shout-out to Toni at customer service for checking us out quickly and helping with the return. Thanks to Rachel for her knowledge and kindness. And to Garrett for helping us load the car.”

“I went to Home Depot in Amsterdam this weekend to buy a couple of large tool chests. Once I arrived I realized that my trailer had two soft tires and I felt that it wouldn't be safe to load up and drive home. Two of the employees (Austin Bartone and Steve) went out of their way to make sure that my tires got inflated and that i could load up safely. Then once I had checked out, the person who helped me load up (I think his name was Jimmy) made sure that my tool chests were”
