Sketchy at best.

While it may be bustling and full of energy during their Easter season, a Saturday afternoon just a few weeks later resulted in a very sad and underutilized facility. 85% empty or closed stalls, the only things open were a few cafes and the butcher stalls. The only upside was free parking, though the garage itself was also a bit rundown. I would not bother returning outside of Easter.

Fun shopping there. They need to get mobile phone service inside the market, people would stay longer.

The first time I've ever visited the Market. Parking on the street and staying aware on the way in, it was a beautiful sunny day. Once inside, the smell of kraut and sweets instantly consumed my senses, body, hair, and the clothes I was wearing. The sight of the many vendors lining the outer walls and others forming islands within the center of the building was captivating as they each possessed a unique look and display. To my amazement, there were more vendors on the second floor! We saw clothing, jewelry, nick nacks, hats, baked goods, fresh meats, fresh fish, tupperware, candy, and BUTTER LAMBS! I must say, of all the hype over Polish vendors, it was Gino's Italian Bakery display that captured my eye as the most appealing. The apparent father and daughter team working the counter were so absolutely friendly. We ended up purchasing a fantastic iced pastry heart, a sort of iced puff pastry braided with delicious raspberry filling, a yummy iced cutout cookie that gave a slight taste of cherry in the dough, and our very favorite item was a giant cinnamon roll (microwaved with butter on the top for breakfast the next day) We also visited the Chrusciki Bakery, bought a couple peanut butter cookies, a chocolate chunk cookie, and our hot cross bun (yet to be tasted). Our last stop was to purchase a butter lamb from Malczewski's. We bought the big 19.99 size and it survived the trip home, half way to Rochester. An experience to cherish.

If you park inside the parking garage, for the next few days 3/24-3/26/24, please be careful. The floor has black ice throughout the garage because the ceilings are leaking and then freezing. Walk slow and maybe even hold hands with someone. I nearly slipped and fell 3 times on 2nd floor of garage, and then fell on my way back to my car. Also saw 2 other people slip and fall. The market definitely needs to be updated. The broadway market/polish market always has great stuff, chocolates, pastries, Nesting dolls, decorated eggs, shirts, hats, pierogis, horseradish, live music, clean bathrooms, friendly staff making everything clean for you, lots of security if you like that sort of thing, charlie chapin chocolates yup, old fashioned candies and new stuff, easter stuff, teas, and flowers, as well as prepared foods. Its a cool market.
