Parkside Candy is a delightful place to visit. The decor provides a step into ice cream parlors of the past! The sea salt caramel with toffee was one of the best ice creams I have ever tasted!
I will definitely return frequently to buy chocolates or a dessert treat!!

Was going to the Main Street store for the first time ever with my 93 year old mom in law and my wife as a way to flip the script on her less than awesome medical news. Well, after traveling nearly 30 mins to get there from downtown during work traffic we find a closed sign. The hours on google state they were open until 6pm and we showed up at a few mins after 5. Very disappointed that your hours are not reflected correctly. Your website is horrid. Hardly any info, no ice cream details about flavors, sundaes, toppings and most importantly pricing. Take a note from Platters and update your online experience, it's 2024 even if you're store has been standing from a era where the only info was word of mouth.

I purchased several different chocolate candies and specifically chose dark chocolate, but the candies did not taste like dark chocolate and were very sweet. Also eat them with in the next day because they started tasting stale on the second dau. However the chocolate truffles did taste better than the other Chocolate candies. The jelly and taffy, and lollipop candies were the better part of the selection. We also had the tuna sandwich lunch which tasted delicious, however I wish the chips came in a different flavor than plain. The staff was very courteous and helpful. But be warned if you use the restroom, all the doorknobs were broken or close to it. The stall wouldn’t lock and the ladies room didn’t have a lock so I had to hope no one came in.

Starting with the beautiful oval interior, this Buffalo gem has maintained it's early 1900s atmosphere with dim yellow lights, checkered floor tiles, and pastel colored walls adorned with their history. As you enter, a staple sweet odor can be noticed in the air owing to the assortment of candies that are displayed throughout the store. Seating around the oval invites you for a luncheon of gourmet sandwiches and a side of chips, after which the vintage ice-cream station with its Sundaes shall get you the necessary closure.
Recommended Candy: white chocolate Pecans

Only go here for aesthetic and looks, don’t go if you actually want something. People are rude and slow.

If I could give one star, it’s for the beautiful architecture. This is a review from last year right before Valentine’s Day. Me and my three children and mom usually pick somewhere special to go to exchange gift bags and have a treat for the holiday. We usually dress up in Valentine clothes and make it fun. We came right at 12 and they opened at 12. It was a cold windy day in Buffalo and the doors were locked. The old woman who runs the place opened the door and stood there almost like she wasn’t going to let us in. We were greeted with incredibly rude comments about how they just opened. Basically …why were we there? We went in and sat down and put the gift bags in the table and she immediately had a problem and told us we needed to call ahead for a party. We said it wasn’t a party. We also brought cardboard bingo to play on the table and she was fuming and told us we were making a mess. We just wanted to order lunch and ice cream. We do this all the time. We’ve gone to Applebees or even Tullys and had food and just had a good time and exchanged gifts. Not a big deal at all. It’s not as if we brought it balloons and had a crowd. We were treated horribly. We also were told we couldn’t take photos with employees in them and when I took more photos of my own children…not her employees…she continued to monitor and watch us and almost silently harass us. We were told lunch could not be ordered for some reason. All around this woman was a bully. So here we are in 2024 and I had a conversation with my mom remembering how bad we were treated. My three children also felt it. I’ve read multiple replies from the owner in these reviews and she doesn’t ever seem to acknowledge her treatment. This business should be shut down and I’ve never said that about anyone before. A side note, we were treated so bad my one daughter who was 12 at the time asked if we could leave and how upset she was by this lady. We were the only customers while we were there. I will never go back. Also, I’m going to back up many years prior. I had an interview with the same woman and was a young college student with a baby. I was so excited to interview and learn how to make chocolates and she gave me the job. When she found out I couldn’t work a later shift due to childcare she said “oh, I didn’t know there was a child involved!” And she basically retracted my job and I never started. I do believe she is suffering some form of mental illness or possible dementia.

Stopped in for Christmas gifts for my husband, and 14 of my friend's children. What a great building, so beautiful inside. I was able to get my husband two very nice gifts i've tasty chocolates and cashews, and also all 14 children taken care of. Lynn was amazing and super helpful. I'll definitely go back.
