As a client at Amherst Physical Therapy for rehabilitation after four surgeries in the last 15 years, I have always been impressed and satisfied with the skill and professionalism of their therapists, management, and office staff. The office is conveniently located in North Buffalo and has plenty of parking. Among the most positive features of the practice are the friendliness of the therapists and the personal attentiveness and support they provide to each client, young or old. My last periods of therapy were from January-September 2020 (pre-operative) and December 2020-April 2021 (post-operative). During a time when the Covid-19 pandemic posed challenges for many health providers who could only provide appointments by Zoom or telephone, Amherst Physical Therapy remained open for clients needing care. They followed the highest standards in screening clients for Covid symptoms, ensuring that they were distanced during work-outs, and sanitizing equipment and surfaces. During this time they also remodeled their gym for better distancing and also installed new, state-of-the-art equipment. I recommend that anyone looking for rehabilitation after surgery or injury, management of a chronic condition, or other medical needs consider Amherst Physical Therapy.

Not a personable or friendly staff. The owner showed a woeful lack of integrity. He took an aggressive and dishonest approach toward me. Very negative energy here and they need to learn how to treat patients with compassion and empathy.

I would definitely recommend this place for your physical therapy. The staff is friendly and I've had nothing but a positive experience here. After reading some of the other reviews I'm glad they rejected the person with the high temperature. At least they are trying to keep their patients and staff safe. I see them wiping everything down after its used. I actually enjoy my visits here.

My experience with AMHERST THEREPY —which ,I’ve utilized numerous times -over the years, has always been excellent. No matter, what my rehab needs have been, the staff(Amanda Ryan. Martin & many others). HAS always been professional , effective, and very beneficial to my recovery AT the same time. The atmosphere is very friendly & respectful to ones individual needs. I recommend AMHERST THEREPY highly. They are a 5 star team. Thank you, Sherrill here

EXTREMELY NEGATIVE ENERGY!!! STAY AWAY!!!I went in for water therapy and was told twice my temperature was too high. I left and went next door to the Sleep Apnea center to get my mask adjusted. My temperature was fine. I went back into the clinic and was confronted by the therapist, Martin, who told me to leave because I “told his aide to go to hell “, which was an absolute bald-faced lie. It was the most humiliating accusation I have ever experienced. Completely unfounded and left me flabbergasted. I found the experience and his confrontational, aggressive manner to be among the most unprofessional and offensive experiences I have ever encountered. Clearly, they are not prepared in how to handle the coronavirus situation with compassion and professionalism.Edit: I have much better things to do then give tedious reviews, having done a grand total of 5 over almost 20 years, but unfortunately this situation warranted my attention. I am spending this time here so that the next potential client does not find him or herself in such an unsettling position with a person who has such a woeful disregard of ethical conduct. I have no problem with his decision to protect people along CDC guidelines- I respect a temperature reading, even if it is inaccurate. What is unacceptable is that he lied. He slandered me in front of other patients. He completely misread the situation and turned it into something it wasn’t. I left his clinic after the second reading and went into the sleep apnea clinic next door for an adjustment. They measured my temperature at 98.6, I went back to his facility to inform him that his thermometer may be giving inaccurate results and he IMMEDIATELY threatened me with leaving his property and flat out LIED, saying I told Amanda, the water therapist to “go to hell”. This was simply not true. Judging by his response, he still does not understand that this is why I was compelled to write this review. In 30+ years of seeing medical practitioners, I have never seen such egregious misconduct in such a mundane setting and would not like anyone else to be subjected to false accusations by this therapist.

I came to Amherst Physical Therapy after a referral from my physician for a wrist injury. I came to see Ryan yesterday and it was my first time seeing a physical therapist. Ryan was very personable and gave me some exercises to do at home. The appointment was relatively short and only took about thirty minutes. I'm not sure if this is common. My preference would have been to do a bit more exercises with the therapist, but perhaps for the first appointment the idea is to get more of a plan together. Scheduling was a little bit of a pain. I called, only to be deferred that they would call me back tomorrow after checking with my insurance. After not hearing for a few days, I called back and eventually got something scheduled, but the reception is definitely a bit curt and not necessarily the most customer-friendly vibe. All in all, my experience so far has been pretty decent.

Highly recommend Amherst Physical Therapy. The staff is very friendly, very knowledgeable, and great to work with. They take the time to listen to your issues and concerns & find the best individual exercise program to help you. My son and I have both used the land based exercising program and will soon begin the aquatic program to work with our pain issues. If you are looking for a great place to go for Physical Therapy, please look into Amherst Physical Therapy. They are the best!!!
