These folks let me in after closing to let me borrow an allen key to tighten my seat post after I left it too loose like a fool and it dropped on me mid ride. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but I’ve had other shops laugh in my face for similar things in the past. 10/10 nice folks, will be back!

The cable for my rear derailleur was fraying and I called around to schedule the repair. Other shops were booked for 2 weeks out so I stopped by and asked these guys. It was 5:30pm on Friday, close to closing. Tony said he could get me in during the week, but then he saw his mechanic was free and asked him if he could do the work now. 15 mins later, I was all fixed up! This is the second time these guys took care of me on the spot. Yes they have an “Old School vibe” but that’s part of the magic!

After suffering a front wheel mechanical, my child and I rushed to this spot on a late Saturday afternoon. He'd already closed up, and the gate was down, but he kindly opened the gate back up and let us in. We were very grateful, but unfortunately, things turned quickly thereafter.
Tony immediately started complaining about the bicycle being 40 years old, and how it's impossible to fix, blah blah blah. Being an enthusiastic owner of several vintage ’70 and ’80s bicycles, nothing could be further from the truth. I should have taken that as a sign to grab the wheel and bicycle and walk home. But he agreed to repair it first thing Sunday, and told us we could pick it up Sunday afternoon.
Sunday morning I get a call the bike is ready to be picked up. I'm guessing it'd be about a 1/2 hour of work with a mechanic, plus parts (hex nuts, replacement skewer etc.). He tells me it's $65 so I'm thinking it took closer to an hour at $60/hr labor rate.
Lo and behold, we show up and he's switched out the entire wheel and says "why take the time to fix something old if you can just put a new wheel on it?!" Well, let's start with the fact that you were hired to repair the existing wheel (which I don't have the skills to do). In no way, shape or form would I agree to a new wheel unless I sourced it myself and it matched the rim and hub of the other wheel etc.
My head exploded. What a chiseler. I would avoid this shop like the plague. Labeling this shop and owner as dishonest and deceptive doesn't begin to describe this scoundrel, despite his initial grace. No better than the food carts selling $5 Poland Spring. We're well into the realm of smash and grab, here.
Caveat emptor, folx!!!

My husband and I have been in there many times for general servicing and have always been satisfied but my expectations were recently exceeded by Atlantic Bicycles. I’d been coordinating with the Trek bike shop on Court about new chain/cassette, tires, and disassembly of my bike for a trip. Had a quote from them and was told to come in early July and they’d take care of it ahead of my big trip. I call July 2nd and am told they cannot get me in for the work until JULY 22nd!!!! I was never told I’d need to schedule that far out! Not to mention that day was AFTER my trip and therefore useless. I called Atlantic Bicycles and they understood my plight, had everything I needed, and did the work within 24 hours…for a much cheaper price! My bike rode great on my travels and I was so relieved everything worked out! They’re the only bike shop I’ll go to from here on out.

Dropped my bike off cause the disc brake was rubbing a bit. Came back a few minutes later and the guy told me he had to take it all apart and put it back together. Charged me 40 bucks and told me the bike needed tightening up and I should really look into that (my usual guy is a pro and that wasn’t the case). Couple weeks later the same thing happened again, took it to my trusted guy and it’s an adjuster he just tightened a couple times. Fixed instantly. Either the guy finessed me or didn’t know what he was doing. Either way, be wary.

Best bike shop in Brooklyn. Super knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. This is the quintessential neighborhood small business shop that everyone should support. Best of all, the shop had better pricing than the internet! Highly recommend to everyone.

Stopped by when I was out riding with a friend and his tire popped. Tony fixed it quickly and was very friendly with both of us. Offered me some advice about my saddle and some new tires but went out of his way to make sure I knew he wasn't trying to pressure me into buying anything. Nice guy, not sure why there are comments about him being rude. Maybe caught him on a bad day?
I'll probably go see him for some 28mm tires soon.

I was visiting from out of town for the 5 Boro Bike tour. The weather forecast called for rain, so I wanted some shoe covers. Tony helped me find some for a great price. I also picked up a Brooklyn bike jersey for an even better price. Tony was friendly and helpful. If you're in Brooklyn and need bike supplies, this is the place to go.

He quickly helped me change my flat and me and someone else sat there waiting for him and made conversation.
I will pay more Everyday for this because if I don’t small bike shops like this will cease to exist. Its called overhead.
Whys everybody leaving bad reviews on a small business owner!
Dude very obviously is Old School and a true OG. If you think He’s rude you sound like a Karen!

Scummy spot, they fixed my tire and come spring when I went to ride it for the first time since it was replaced, it flattened before I left my apartment(yes I pumped the tire up prior to leaving). Go anywhere else

I love this old school bike shop! Received great service and helpful advice that I hadn’t received at the trendier shop I’d been using. Highly recommended!

Guy acts like he's annoyed you came in.
I try to support local businesses but since he behaves like he'd prefer me not to enter, then I won't ??

Not friendly at all, didn’t even bother listening to what I had to say. I don’t recommend it

Not particularly friendly or accommodating. I was looking to have a specialty piece that you can only get online (a pet carrier) installed on my bike and the person working there told me somewhat rudely they just point blank would never install something on your bike you didn't buy at the shop. I understand where they're coming from, but I obviously was looking to pay them for the service. I ended up going to another local bike shop.
