while unck is doing his weekly physical therapy i walked around gun hill rd by jerome ave and found a dingy low grade shoddy deli which will do as its hot outside and i need a can of diet soda or 2 and a few snacks that i can enjoy with my morning papers. typical deli. not fancy , not updated interior wise but it is what it is and thats ok with me: got my 2 cans of pop , a granola bar and a plastic sealed blueberry muffin at a total whopping cost of 6 bucks and now its time to leave deli king and grocery before i see a rodent glide along the non washed floor.

The food is good but the service is Horrendous! The woman that answers the phone is extremely rude and rushes you, only for your order to come out wrong.

Great sandwiches. Avoid an employee named Sam.On his cellphone and working the register at the same time.made mistakes. I tried to talk to him but gave me attitude. I mentioned I will talk to owner and he tells me he does not care what owner has to say. I never had a problem until today. The food is good but this employee should not be working the counter.

This is the rudest most unprofessional deli. Not to mention extremely unsanitary. Always ordered food from there but hadn't actually been inside until recently to be greeted by flies flying around the cooking area and a greasy looking employee being the counter who couldn't keep his finger out of his nose. GROSS! . I used to order food from them regularly but after continuously messing up our order, sending me a sandwich with a hair in it and not reimbursing me I finally had to stop ordering from them. Ive,waited up to an HOUR for an egg sandwich, received other peoples orders and when I call to get the right order I am left on hold hung up on or even better berated by their rude unprofessional manager. DO NOT GIVE THESE NASTY PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS. There are so many better (more sanitary) places around to order from!

Really friendly people and the sandwiches are YUMMM. They have ciabatta bread which in itself is a win to me and the grilled chicken was delicious. The price doesn't hurt either... sandwich and a can of soda/bottle of water for $5.

Some of the finest sandwiches in the neighborhood, and their prices on other foodstuffs isn't all that bad either. Most sandwiches are almost a foot long and nearly 2" thick, they give you enough so that you could almost make two meals out of one. Make sure to use the menu board to pick your sandwich as they make 10 - 15 varies on their own, and many while similar, vary in spiciness, etc..... They are very good about customizing them too, so don't be afraid to ask. They also make pretty good french fries. One tip I would give though, is to try and go during off hours, as they get tons of traffic from the hospital during prime time, and changes in shift.

Best deli sandwich I've ever had! I ate "The Bronx River" tonight with a friend before the Yankees game and am already craving another one. Definitely worth the excursion on the 4 train to Mosholu Parkway.
