We’ve always gone to another R&G Brenner location and LOVED our tax preparer. Unfortunately she is no longer there so we had to look for another location and came to Bethpage. Terrible experience there. We felt like our requests were not being respected. Spoke with Dan the second time and he seemed more helpful. Will edit and update review after our experience amending and having to fix our taxes, which could have been avoided.
EDIT: turns out everything I was told up to this point was not true. The way that the preparer did our taxes, it was NOT able to be amended. This mistake will cost me an extra $6,000 on top of the $365 I paid to get my taxes done incorrectly. I also got about $4-500 less filing the way he wanted me to file instead of the way I wanted to, and the company won’t even refund me the fee I paid for his services, which is the least they could do after such a mistake. I do not recommend getting your taxes done here.

We've always gone to another R&G Brenner location and LOVED our tax preparer. Unfortunately she is no longer there so we had to look for another location and came to Bethpage because we saw great reviews. Terrible experience there. We felt like our requests were not being respected and we were pressured to file one way because the preparer didn't want to spend more time figuring out the numbers for both married filing single and married filing separate. He literally sighed and said "thats going to take a loong time" and then proceeded to still not do what we asked, despite us asking multiple times. Spoke with Dan the second time and he was able to check both amounts within MINUTES with a click of a button. Customer service reached out and assured me that my amendment would be taken care of. However, when I went again in April (to a different location) the way that the first preparer did our taxes, it was NOT able to be amended. This mistake will cost me an extra $6,000 next year, which we cannot afford, on top of the $365 I paid to get my taxes done incorrectly (which I requested to have refunded due to HIS mistake and was denied), AND we got back $4-500 less than we would've gotten if he had done what I asked. I do not recommend getting your taxes done here. My husband could have done our taxes himself on TurboTax for 1/3 of the price, and saved $6k.

Dan was quick and professional, I think I was done in less then one hour.
But like everything the price went up again.

My experience with RG Brenner has always been pleasant and satisfying . I have had my taxes prepared by them for at least 10 yrs. Dan Shapiro is knowledgeable in all aspects of taxes and is always friendly. I would highly recommend RG Brenner for all your tax needs .

I’d like to share my positive comments about CPA Dan Shapiro for assisting me with this year’s tax preparations. He is professional, efficient and well-prepared to process your docs, and address your questions and concerns. I returned to this Bethpage location having gone there last year, and although the outcome was a little tough to swallow, I knew that the very best job had been done on my behalf. Dan wears many hats and handles the pressure like a champ.
