Beware when renting from this location. Now I can see how people get arrested for "stealing" their vehicles. My husband dropped off a car 12/7/2023 around 130pm and on 12/8/2023 I have pending charge for $57 for it being "late". This has happened to me in the past when I called to extend a vehicle I had for an extra week. They had pending $57 every single day for week because the "system didn't recognize the extension". I didnt notice it unitl i was dropping of the vehicle but they blamed their system then.. It's obviously user/employee error.Between my husband and I we rented from various different El Paso locations before relocating to Las Cruces. And this had never happened at any other locationI forgot to add that the vehicle I returned on 12/7 was already out to someone else on 12/8 when I called but I was still being charged as if I still had it out late. That is scary ? I'm still responsible while someone else is driving it. This only happens when I drop off/deal, you will have to follow up to make sure your transaction is closed out correctly and verify you are not being charged daily late fees

Alexis was very helpful!! I had reservations at enterprise and again (second time in the last year that they gave me issues) upon arrival is when I was told they didn’t have a car for me. I asked where else I could go they said maybe Hertz but probably would have nothing also. I went with no reservation and Alexis helped us out and was great all the way around! I will be going back no questions asked. We like to do weekend trips and everything after that was smooth!!

Hertz will confirm your car online and then call you days after telling you they don’t have a car for you. They will issue zero apology or solution leaving you in a terrible situation with little notice. Avis is much better.

Customer service at the location was great but the company is horrible. After returning the vehicle and receiving my deposit back. I had another charge for the vehicle pending on my account after I already paid. And customer service number is no help got hung up on after my bank called and requested a supervisor. This is after a 45 min hold time. Will not be returning.

Don't use online reservations through Expedia. An online reservation does not mean they have a car available.Presumably, that means they're telling Expedia cars are available and just hoping that one will be?

The place is VERY unprofessional! No one answers the phone but if you are lucky enough that they do answer they leave you on hold. They rented me a car at a quarter tank of gas, a crack in the windshield AND it needed service which affected gas mileage. Upon returning the car the only employee was out of the office and the door was locked. It says to call the number but again, no one answered. The employee finally came back and the people in front of me reserved a car but were told that they accidentally booked cars that needed oil changes and they would have to upgrade for $25! I will not go back here!

When I arrived, it was locked, although I had an appointment. Neither phone number worked. After 19 minutes, someone finally arrived. Very stressful!

At the time of rental at Denver International Airport, the service was flawless. Courteous, attentive, genuine. The car was great, good condition (minus a few scuffs and normal tear and wear) Everything was great. At the time to drop off at this location in Las Cruces, a different experience surfaced. Turns out, my return date was on a Sunday, and this office is closed Sundays. I called customer service 800 number at 8am Sunday suggesting dropping off the rental at the El Paso Airport being open Sundays. I was assured by the rep that as long as i parked the rental in the designated parking and dropping the agreement and keys inside the Ramada hotel dropbox just outside the Hertz office before 11 AM, it would be fine. Well, the following Monday morning, Hertz tried charging me a $100 fee at 0100 am, a day after i had already paid $384 dollars that included deposit of $200 plus rent for 1 day, plus taxes. Credit card company fraud department called me asking if i authorized this additional charge, and since nobody from Hertz ever called to clear this, i said no. I mean, who bills a fee just past midnight? And for what? Without notice or anything. And you're not gonna tell me i left the vehicle dirty because i took it to Mister car wash with the $18 dollar wash, vaccumed the inside and i filled the gas tank ($29 dollars) and i have the receipts to prove it, so what gives? Tuesday, i get a not so pleasant call from Hertz corporate asking me to immediately contact them and its of urgent matter to return the vehicle ASAP or face legal action at my expense... what is going on here? Are you serious?I went to their dropoff office in person right away and i find out the vehicle is no longer there, still under my name and apparently someone else is driving it by now. I know you would not be able to rent mentioned vehicle again without opening the dropbox and retrieving the key and agreement before letting someone else have the key and at the very least change the responsible party since your vehicle is no longer in my possession. It clearly was not Alexis fault at the Las Cruces office, and i apologized for being very upset. She promptly closed the agreement and provided a receipt which was appreciated. But, who in Hades is in charge there inspecting the returns and randomly assesing fees without contacting your clients first and letting them know at least why?And on top of that your corporate offices threatening me with full legal action at my expense for something that YOU failed to do your job at, not me! You have outdone yourselves, and i hope my review and the reviews of others with similar problems highlight the errors in your ways, and future clients take these testimonials in consideration before conducting business with your location. You have lost my business for good, and I hope your corporate office takes these complaints seriously and takes action accordingly. My rating does not reflect the service provided in Denver, only at Las Cruces location and whomever threatened to take legal action vs me for your mistake at your corporate offices. Inconsistent policies, dishonest practices, price gouging, unwarranted legal threats, and irresponsible assignment in liability, making the wrong person responsible in case of property casualties. Never again... 1 star.

The man on the counter was very stereotyped. He doesn't care when customer walks in. Without checking anything he said say no we dont have .May be because of my skin colour.

I’ve been renting cars here for 10 years, just called and was rudely dealt with my one of the male employees working June 9th, 2022 @ 8:36 a.m.I called requesting a rental car, was told they only had a 12 passenger van. No biggie I get there’s a shortage but when a customer tells you “oh that’s okay thank you so much” you wouldn’t expect them to rudely end the call because I wasn’t interested in the van. Perhaps he was mad I was wasting his precious time?Nonetheless this is the last time I go through Hertz Las Cruces

Very nice and friendly staff. The choice of rentals is pretty good. Comparable rates and the cars I've rented have been clean and in very good condition. The last time I went, there was no one in the office and the sign on the door said they were washing cars. Luckily, they have a box to drop your key off. I turned in my last car this way and had no issues.

They have good customer service here but often times they are out working on the vehicles so you have to call to get someone at the office. But otherwise they do good work.

Absolutely awful. This location refuses to take responsibility for their actions and lack of empathy for people. I booked a reservation a full day in advance and had someone call me this morning to tell me they don't have any vehicles available but he will call me back when they do receive some. I called just a few minutes ago, and vehicles are suddenly available from El Paso. I want to get a vehicle but now the guy working is telling me I have to book 24hours in advance because of policy and that my previous reservation was cancelled. I never cancelled my reservation! These people cancelled my reservation that I made a day prior that follows their store policy but failed to notify me! Now a store rep is telling me I have to wait another 24 hours to get a vehicle because of the policy. I'm stranded without a reservation because of other people cancelling it without my permission or even getting notified about the cancellation. The lack of communication amongst the employees and manager is absolutely disgraceful if this is how they handle business. Do not give this location your business because Hertz as a company is corrupt and their way of running business is unprofessional.
