“Can't thank Larry enough for his help on our cross-country road trip. We started having transmission trouble and visited his shop. We really thought the trans might finally be a goner. On the spot he took a moment to listen and even come out and do a quick assessment before he set us up for an appt that would've been later in the day. His advice ended up being right... he suggested it (still) might just be our fluid levels, and then taught me more about how the trans works and how much fluid it actually needs. So we filled up, kept our fingers crossed, and he was right! We've since made it all the way back to NJ without a problem. His advice helped so much and so thankful to have someone to trust. “Similar story to some of the other reviews, and I was was thrilled with the service I received at Blacklock's!I was recently in Clovis, just for a stop on a road trip further out West. As I pulled into town on New Years Eve, I started getting oil warning lights in my vehicle that I had just had service done (including an oil change) a few days prior.I was traveling with my dog and young daughter, and we were due to leave early in the morning on January 1st. When I woke up that morning, I started calling around to see if any auto repair shops might happen to be open on New Years day at 8 am. As you might expect, they were not.When I happened to call Blacklock, I was thrilled when someone answered the phone. Not only where they open, but Joel was super friendly and told me to come on by after I explained the situation.We headed over there and Joel immediately got to work. They ran a diagnostic on the car and found that a bunch of warnings were popping up - all things that I thought had been addressed with my service the prior week back in Austin. He noted that the fee for the diagnostic was going to be $150 before doing it, and I told him to go through with it as I didn't really have much of a choice.Another guy came (owner, perhaps?) and they finished up the diagnostic. The theory was that the place that I had worked with in Texas didn't reset the warnings, but that all was well. Checked the oil to confirm and reset the warnings. I was relieved and grateful for the fact that they were open and welcomed me in on New Years Day, but they weren't done yet. When it came time to head out - they told me not to worry about the diagnostic charge... on the house. I was blown away! Gave a healthy tip as a show of gratitude and then we headed back on our way to Santa Fe.I'm not one to go and write reviews for places, but this one absolutely deserved the 5 star shout out. If they treat others anything like how they treated us - a no brainer recommendation from me.Thanks, gents!”
